Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Blair.
Hi Gina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started around a campfire, with good friends, who suggested that my husband James and I use part of our 401k and open up our own business- be are own bosses, and be in charge of our wealth. This lit a fire and my husband began listening to podcasts focused on franchises, and came across franchise guru and business coach, Kim Daly. Kim interviewed both of us, found out our strengths, weaknesses, and interests. She led us to HOMEstretch and we both knew it was the right choice.
I learned so much from my parents- how to build things, how to build a network, and how to stay organized through it all, while giving back to our community. My mother has been a giving, hard-working, organized, detail-oriented boss lady her whole life. Her husband of 40 years, and my second dad, connected businesses that could benefit and grow because of each other. My birth father was a general contractor and is still today building his own house at almost 80 years old. I can remember going to his job sites- watching him make sure that every plan was followed, down to the last detail.
I am originally from CA, but graduated from The University of KY, with a BS in Special Education. I was a teacher for a combined 23 years, prior to opening HOMEstretch in October of 2024. I have coached basketball and still coach track and field for The Tennessee HEAT, a Christ-centered organization of homeschooling families, that focuses on instilling Christian values, building strong character, and glorifying God through the power of athletics.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening our business at the end of October, that caters mostly to Realtors and real estate agents, was not the best time of year to do so. We also ran into the election, and then winter. Owning and learning a new industry has been an on-going, and exciting challenge. I knew educational acronyms, not those pertaining to business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about HOMEstretch?
