Exploring Life & Business with Gladys Muñoz of IntiNova Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gladys Muñoz.

Hi Gladys, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
IntiNova Consulting was born from my lived experience navigating the barriers that small, minority-owned, and mission-driven businesses face every day. As a Peruvian-born, first-generation professional with a background in public health and business, I saw firsthand how strategy and financial tools were often gatekept from the very communities that needed them most. I created IntiNova to change that — to make growth support more human, accessible, and grounded in equity.

What started as solo consulting quickly grew through word-of-mouth. Today, IntiNova serves small businesses, nonprofits, and founders across the U.S. and Latin America — providing strategic guidance in marketing, finances, and operations, all rooted in real-world needs. Our mission is simple: empower businesses, build strong communities, and create a more inclusive economic future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely not been smooth — but it’s been full of meaningful growth. Like many mission-driven businesses, we’ve experienced both growing pains and powerful wins. One of the most fulfilling parts has been building deep trust and rapport with our community and seeing that alignment turn into long-term relationships.

That said, navigating today’s social and political climate is a real challenge. Nonprofits and small businesses — especially those led by immigrants and people of color — are facing rising pressures. For example, one of our longtime clients, a bodega owner in East Boston, serves a community where over 50% of residents are Hispanic/Latinx. Due to recent ICE activity, foot traffic and sales have dropped significantly. When our clients are impacted, we feel it too — because our work is about collective care and resilience. These moments push us to stay grounded, responsive, and advocate harder for equity and support.

We’ve been impressed with IntiNova Consulting , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
IntiNova Consulting is a purpose-driven business consulting firm rooted in equity, strategy, and sustainability. We specialize in supporting small businesses, nonprofits, and mission-driven entrepreneurs — particularly those from historically underserved communities including BIPOC, immigrant, multilingual, and LGBTQ+ founders.

What sets us apart is how we blend strategic expertise with real-world empathy. We’re not just advisors — we’re collaborators. We take the time to understand our clients’ values, challenges, and cultural contexts. Our services range from business growth planning, marketing + branding strategy, financial literacy, grant and loan application support, to leadership coaching. But at our core, we help people build businesses that feel good — not just perform well.

Brand-wise, we’re most proud of being trusted. Our clients say they feel seen, heard, and empowered — not judged or overwhelmed. That’s our magic. We’re not about one-size-fits-all models. We co-create solutions that actually work for you and your community.

If there’s one thing we want readers to know: at IntiNova, business isn’t just about profit — it’s about purpose, people, and possibility. Whether you’re scaling your side hustle, leading a nonprofit, or navigating a new business idea, we’re here to support you every step of the way — with strategy, heart, and accountability.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
