Exploring Life & Business with Helen Pacek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Pacek.

Hi Helen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started working processing placentas through a local midwife who offered to teach me her process after a postpartum mother that I was working with as a doula for was inquiring about the process.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a little bumpy learning about the best way to go about starting to work independently and finding work, but it has all been a good learning experience.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I offer placenta services for mothers who have recently given birth. I service the Nashville area and within a 75-mile radius. The placenta services I offer are the Traditional Method, Raw Start Method, placenta prints, tinctures, and cord keepsakes.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
I quit my job as a nanny in the fall and decided to go full force into being a postpartum doula and building my placenta encapsulation business.

The training was a financial investment that was a little daunting at the moment since I had just phased out my nanny families, but it was worth it.
