Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Three years ago, I was working in a small local clinic as a physical therapist in a small town in Arkansas. Having worked in hospitals and in pediatrics, the outpatient setting was a nice change of pace. For many, it would be considered a dream job. But after only 18 months, I left the best gig a physical therapist could land, moved to Tennessee, and started my own clinic. After 30 months in business, I can say that it’s been an eventful journey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
If it were smooth and easy, more people would do it. Entrepreneurship is not something I was prepared for, nor did I ever see myself doing. I’m still no good at it, but I have come to appreciate the game of business. As a result, I believe I’m helping more people with the skills I’ve developed.

Ascend Physical Therapy has been serving the Hendersonville community since 2023. We help fit and healthy people stay fit and healthy and specialize in knee pain within the barbell-athlete community (CrossFitters, powerlifters, body builders, gym-goers, etc.)
Ascend is different from other healthcare-gym-hybrid clinics because we offer the most uninterrupted time with the Doctors, full 1 hour sessions. Whether you are getting pain relief through dry needling, cupping, or spinal manipulation, or are working on your backsquat form, you are being treated by the Doctors and are never handed off to a student, assistant, or untrained staff.
I’m proud of our brand of giving. We want to see Hendersonville healthy and moving,. We have found the more we give away, the more that dream comes true.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I fondly remember our backyard growing up. It was a clay hill, our house at the foot. At the top was my fortress, and the bottom was the enemy forces attempting to claim my land. My weapon: a garden hose. My enemy: my younger brother. Our attire: whitey tighties. We’d spend hours play fighting, making barricades, and eventually, making mud pies in the swamp at the foot of the hill. I’m not sure if our parents ever forgave us from eroding all that clay, or from the water bills.
