Today we’d like to introduce you to Janki Patel.
Hi janki, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Janki Patel. I moved to Nashville in 2009 and got my first job as a teacher in MNPS. I quickly began to explore private schools and began my job as an educator at University School of Nashville from 2010-2015. Over the summer, I taught an ACT camp there. After building a home in Providence, I worked for three years at Mount Juliet High School. After having my daughter, I began tutoring. What began as a side hustle was quickly embraced by the community to be a full time job. I made the decision to leave teaching and pursue tutoring full time. We are ten years in and have no intention of slowing down. We offer customized tutoring, with absolutely zero cookie cutter curriculum. We believe in supporting EVERY learner in a way to boost confidence and maximize learning. We tutor all subjects K-8, math and English/Language Arts to high school students, college algebra, and ACT prep. We offer one on one tutoring and small group options and make ourselves available in person and online, evenings and weekends. We strive to proved the best educational experience to ensure each child is successful for life. Some students notice improvement in as little as one session. We are grateful for the ability to support students in the community in this way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We want to help and support each student, while keeping tutoring individualized. We hired Ms. Tinker in Fall of 2024 to allow students that are younger to be supported while I primarily work with upper middle school, high school, and college. We are looking to expand this year and hire an additional math teacher. All tutoring takes places in Mount Juliet currently.

We specialize in tutoring done by CERTIFIED teachers with more than ten years of experience each. Collectively, we have 30 plus years of teaching experience between the two of us! Each child improves because we are familiar with standards and best practices in teaching. I also have experience working for one of the most well known test prep companies in America. We pride ourselves with extensive teaching experience so that we can best support our students. We provide K-12 tutoring: all subjects for elementary, ELA and Math for middle and high school, SAT/ACT/Praxis preparation, and college math support. We also offer virtual tutoring, a pre-recorded ACT course, summer ACT camps, and a ACT prep guide.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We are looking to expand by adding more teachers to our brand, but want to maintain the quality of services. Each teacher must have teaching experience, a degree in education, and preferably both public and private school experience.
Pricing:
- tutoring is 100 per hour
- act prep or college tutoring 125 per hour
- the group act class is 700 for 10 hours with a daily drop in rate available at 175 per 2.5 hour session
