Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Hamrick.
Hi Jeremiah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve called Nashville home for all 27 years I’ve been on this planet. My best friend of 15+ years, Chris Brannon (also a Nashville Native), and I launched the local rum brand MIRAT a couple of months ago, and we’ve been gaining traction around Nashville. He was a brewer at various Nashville breweries before this, and I worked in supply chain/logistics. He and I have always wanted to run a business together and tried our hands at a couple of small entrepreneurial ventures before this. Combining his love and knowledge of the alcohol industry with my interest and experience in business, we decided to start a spirits company. It’s been a fun road, and we’re just getting started!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Though we’ve only been on Nashville shelves for a couple of months, we’ve worked towards this goal for around two years. There have been various roadblocks, such as supply delays and some red tape, but we made it through with the help of our business partners. I’ve been amazed at how helpful and supportive other local business owners have been during MIRAT’s journey!
We’ve been impressed with Wayward Spirit House, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wayward Spirit House, LLC owns and manages the local Nashville rum brand MIRAT. We sought to create an incredibly versatile liquor, liked by rum and non-rum drinkers. Combining a handful of tropical flavors and a bit of cane sugar with Caribbean white rum, MIRAT is one of the easiest drinking liquors you’ll ever have (with way less sugar than the competition). What makes you happy?
I’d have to say that, first and foremost, my wife, Grace, is my biggest source of happiness. She’s the best life partner I could’ve asked for, and I’m so grateful to have her by my side. Besides catching up with friends and family, I also enjoy working out, playing video games, and chatting about the future. Our four pets also always put a smile on my face.
