Exploring Life & Business with Kimberly Harless

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Harless.

Kimberly Harless

Hi Kimberly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My husband and I moved to Tennessee in November of 2022 to be closer to our grandbabies!

I retired from a successful 20+ year Wealth Management career to be the primary caregiver for my Alzheimer’s stricken mom. I obtained my STNA and was able to care for her over 5 years. After her health declined to the point, she had to go to a nursing home, my focus became getting closer to my grandchildren. It’s been wonderful being so close and available to pick them up from school, go to all their sporting and school events, and love them from a few miles away instead of a few states away.

I’ve been around and involved in real estate, in several capacities, for over 30 years. When I started looking for a new home in Tennessee while living in Ohio, I had a negative experience with the first realtor to whom I was referred. Long story short, no customer service skills at all. My second realtor was amazing! She treated me like I’ve always treated my clients.

It was then I realized my skill sets, life experiences, and love of helping people achieve their goals culminated in becoming a realtor. I’m an advisor and advocate for my clients helping them through both the selling and buying processes.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting in a community I’m new to is a bit challenging at first.

Fortunately, from my experiences with my past career, I’ve been able to connect with great community leaders and establish strong relationships and friendships. Tennessee brings out the best in people!

I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Luxury Homes with Kim/Zach Taylor Real Estate?
As a certified Realtor, an experienced professional, STNA, a recent resident from Ohio, and most important of all, a grandma, I have a unique outlook and perspective with advising and advocating for my clients. By listening and understanding what my clients want and need, I break down both the selling and buying processes with my personal touch and provide honest feedback even if it’s negative. My clients all know I have their best interests in mind while partnering with them.

My specialty of being a partner with my clients is a boutique style of helping at a personal level versus a one-size-fits-all approach. Selling and purchasing a home is stressful and there is anxiety, I ease and help clients manage all of that so they can maintain their normal day-to-day lifestyle with little interruption.

I believe my life experiences in real estate of building a home from the ground up, completing bathroom and kitchen remodels by myself, purchasing a fixer-upper then unexpectedly having to gut the entire home, selling when inventory was at a record high, moving and living out of boxes for several months during a renovation, renting, buying a brand new home, learning how to develop resources when moving to new places, building relationships and all the experience of mistakes made and lesson learned sets me apart from others in the industry because I’ve been there and gotten through it all! I guide my clients with knowledge based on experience.

People must know that by partnering with me, they will have an advocate and advisor who will be with them throughout the entire process and passionately put their ideas and goals at the forefront of our relationship.

What do you think about happiness?
My family, especially my grandbabies, make me happy! With my mom having advanced Alzheimer’s at a young age, I’ve been fortunate to realize that family and friends (and my dog, Nelly) are what make life fulfilling.

I was extremely focused on my past career when I was young and family was on the back burner. Life circumstances changed my perspective. The love and connection with my family make me a better well-rounded person who lives intentionally.
