Exploring Life & Business with Landon Parton of Landon Parton.LookLab

Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon Parton.

Hi Landon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Woodbury, Tennessee, where fashion didn’t always feel accessible or understood, but I was fascinated by the way clothing could completely change how someone carried themselves. My mom owned a boutique in our small town, and I spent years working there before eventually opening the first men’s boutique in Woodbury myself at 19. Being in that environment taught me early on that style is about much more than clothing. It’s confidence, identity, self expression, and community.

At the same time, I was studying political science and pre law at Middle Tennessee State University because I’ve always been interested in advocacy, and understanding systems that impact people’s lives. One of the moments that really shifted my perspective was being featured in a Super Bowl commercial early on and seeing how much creatives and artists often lacked protection or leverage behind the scenes. That experience pushed me toward entertainment law and shaped how I think about both fashion and business today.

Over time, my path naturally blended fashion, branding, storytelling, and law. Working in luxury retail refined my understanding of styling and client relationships, while building my own brand helped me realize how much presentation can influence confidence and opportunity. Everything I do now comes back to helping people evolve into the version of themselves they want the world to see.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges has been navigating industries that can feel difficult to break into when you come from a small town and don’t necessarily have immediate access to connections or resources. A lot of what I’ve built has come from consistency, relationship building, and being willing to learn through experience.

Another challenge has been balancing multiple identities and ambitions at once. I’m deeply interested in fashion and creativity, but I’m also pursuing law and advocacy. Early on, it sometimes felt like people expected me to choose one lane. Over time, I realized the most powerful thing I could do was build something that authentically combines all of those interests instead of limiting myself to one version of success.

There’s also pressure that comes with wanting everything you create to reflect a high standard. I care deeply about presentation, execution, and growth, which can sometimes make me overly critical of myself. Learning that growth happens through experimentation, mistakes, and evolution has been important for me personally and professionally.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Landon Parton.Look Lab is my personal styling and creative consulting brand centered around the idea of evolution through style. The concept is rooted in helping people refine and elevate the way they present themselves while still feeling authentic to who they are.

My work includes wardrobe styling, closet edits, outfit curation, event styling, and creative direction. I approach styling as more than just clothing. It’s about identity, confidence, storytelling, and understanding how someone wants to move through the world. I’m especially interested in helping people build timeless wardrobes that feel elevated but still approachable and personal.

The “Look Lab” concept reflects experimentation, transformation, and intentionality. I’ve always loved the idea that style can evolve alongside someone’s life, career, and self perception.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Don’t wait until you feel fully qualified to begin. A lot of people delay starting because they think they need perfect conditions, more experience, or more validation first. Some of the most important opportunities in my life came from simply starting before I felt completely ready.

For anyone interested in fashion or styling, relationships matter just as much as aesthetics. Technical skill and taste are important, but people remember how you make them feel. Building trust, consistency, and genuine connections will take you much further than trying to impress everyone.

For those interested in law or advocacy, stay curious and learn how to think critically rather than just memorizing information. The strongest people in those spaces know how to communicate, understand nuance, and connect with others. Your ability to understand people will always matter.

Most importantly, don’t feel pressured to fit into one box. Some of the most fulfilling careers are built by combining multiple interests into something uniquely your own.
