Exploring Life & Business with Lucas LoMonaco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucas LoMonaco.

Hi Lucas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I begged my mom for a piano at 8 years old after being completely obsessed with Linkin Park’s album Meteora. It had amazing melodies, harmonies, and the power of the band really hit home for me. I grew up doing musicals so any songs with big choruses that were well planned and thought out caught my attention, it seems to have stuck with me. My mom and I agreed on the piano at first because she did a lot of research and concluded that the piano would help me understand music better and excel faster. I played for about 4 years until I couldn’t take it anymore and I wanted a guitar. Next thing you know there’s a Yamaha starter guitar under the tree. Both of my parents told me to practice hard and show effort, then I could get a better guitar. Not only was it their words that pushed me, but my sheer curiosity and discovery of the world of music as it laid right in front of my eyes and at my fingertips. I continued to play guitar and piano and began wanting to write my own songs at the age of 13. It took me a couple of days of really hard practice and understanding how to strum/play at the same time as singing, but I got it. From then on out it’s been songs and songs for me all day all night and I can’t get enough of it. I’ve always been good at writing, all my English teachers thought I had talent especially when I did poetry. It shows that I am meant to do this. I breathe music and I am a businessman as well. I just secured a job at Google as a Sales Lead and I am happy to be doing it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My life has definitely not been smooth but it has been cushioned by the people that love me. I saw the world as a bright place when I was a kid, but when I hit my teens, it became real to me that the world can be cruel and it is up to us to find the light. I went to therapy a lot when I was in my teens and was confused how it could help me. I have pretty bad ADHD and have only really just learned to cope with it now and I am 24. I never liked the pills I was supposed to take for ADHD, they made me angry and violent on the comedown. I didn’t want to talk to anyone and often suppressed these feelings with weed. I’ll admit I was a hardcore kid and I’m hardcore now but there isn’t really anything that bothers me anymore. I have come to peace with what we might experience in the next coming years and hope to leave a mark on this Earth, I hope people talk about me in years from now because they’ll listen to my music.

We’ve been impressed with Google/Music Publishing/Song Tailoring, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Like I said, I am a sales lead at Google and I specialize in the sale of Google’s internet services for homes and businesses. I have a music publishing entity called LoMonaco Publishing and a Song Tailoring company called “sTaY cReAtIvE”. The goal of the publishing company is to exploit artists’ music in order for a percentage of their royalties. The purpose of my Song Tailoring company is to help people that may not be confident on how to write a song or are struggling on a current song to help them make it better. I have a lot of experience in songwriting and hope that my company gains traction within the next few years. What really sets me apart from others I would say is my unique style of songwriting. I believe I am able to incorporate pop trends in music into my songs which are free-flowing and consist of my emo/rock/indie/pop-punk roots. It’s hard to say what I’m most proud of brand-wise but I would say myself. It’s hard to get college students and people that are just starting out and have no money to pay money for verses and choruses, especially when they have big egos. I believe we must look at songs as life, as art, but marketable art. At the end of the day, if your song is considered “bad” by society or pop culture it will probably get popular 1% of the time, and that’s with a lot of money and advertising. All in all, I want my readers to know that my brand and services are available and the funding for them is almost where it needs to be. There are websites coming very soon, but my services are available right now if you just contact me: “[email protected]

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am adopted by a beautiful Italian/Mexican family that gave the world to me. By blood, I am Argentinian/Lebanese/Chilean. I’ve never talked to anyone that wasn’t surprised when I told them I was adopted so yeah!
