Today we’d like to introduce you to Marita Hill.

Hi Marita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Atlanta, GA, and lived my entire childhood in the metro area. I had the blessing of experiencing “both” sides of the city throughout my youth. Surprisingly, beginning and ending my adolescence in College Park, where my heart still lives. As a child, I always colorfully saw the world. Though I grew up Christian, I was intrigued by all the things in between. I loved speaking to trees, imagining fairies, and ghost-busting in my elementary school hallways.

The school was across the street from a professional psychic and every morning I would imagine how cool that would be as a career. What a thought! Life’s twists and turns both drew me closer to and further away from spirituality as I journeyed into young adulthood. Eventually, I realized after a few years in college, a couple of stints in the fast food industry, and working in education that I wanted nothing more than to commune with “the Divine” for a living.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve certainly had some snags along my life’s adventure. My childhood had several challenges and was at many times, unstable. However, I feel blessed that while I have experienced a few “setbacks” in life, I’ve found support in some of the unlikeliest places. After high school, my son was born in my sophomore year of college. I originally attended Fisk University but transferred after moving back to Georgia. It was during that time I learned many things about the world.

I navigated a few more semesters of college, having my daughter, overcoming domestic violence, and taking back my independence. The largest obstacle has been breaking free from conditioning and other people’s expectations of who and what I should be or have become. Reclaiming my narrative has been demanding yet necessary. I am proud of who I am and my business despite societal perception… and it warms my heart.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’ve always been interested in spirituality and the esoteric. It was as a teenager that I was introduced to camps and classes revolving around entrepreneurship. That small seed was planted in my mind and grew gradually over time. I’ve been hustling ever since; from helping my mother sell at farmer’s markets to doing crochet braids on the side to make ends meet.

After deciding that I needed to take charge of my future, I began to take Law of Attraction classes at a local Atlanta botanica. This opened my eyes to a world of possibilities. I purchased tarot cards around 2016 and took the time to practice with them for fun. Often their truthfulness was too shocking. During this time I had many touching dreams that told me spirituality was where I would find my success.

So I began to brainstorm business ideas that incorporated my love for the Universe. In 2019, after the passing of my brother, Sidney, I thoroughly immersed myself in fine-tuning my mediumship abilities, tarot card reading, angel numbers, and manifestation. After some encouragement from my former co-workers, I began hosting “full moon parties” in my hometown of College Park. I would teach attendees about using the Law of Attraction and manifestation to their benefit.

We’d laugh and share crystals and tips. Simultaneously, I would practice my card reading on the side at my job. I kept many notes, gained a few loyal customers, and felt my manifestations coming true. Three months later I packed me and my children up in my 2005 Honda Civic and moved back to Nashville. My car would overheat every twenty minutes or so. I had no real job and nothing but a few hundred dollars saved up. I haven’t worked a full-time job since and devote all my time to my business now.

I’ve lived the journey of following faith and using spirituality as a way to bring positive change. It was never a perfect or “easy” ride, but well worth it. I use these experiences to truly feel and understand who my clients are and what they’re going through. I offer 15-60 minute long personal tarot readings via phone, Zoom, and in-person. You can currently find me at AromaG’s Botanica on Mondays for walk-ins.

In sessions, clients can expect to receive affirmations, confirmations, and tangible advice that will lead them toward a more positive future. I provide personal manifestation coaching as well for clients that need a more regimented approach toward jumpstarting change. Additionally, I provide pet readings and numerology reports. Occasionally, you can catch me still hosting my “full moon parties.”

I now offer personalized parties, corporate events, and restaurant psychic entertainment. By booking Psychic Marita LLC hourly, all willing guests have the opportunity to receive a reading. I’ve had the pleasure of reading for guests at Hopsmith Tavern, Butcher & Bee, Charlotte Tilbury at Nordstrom, Thistle & Rye, and many other wonderful private events. Providing this exclusive experience to my clients has warmed my heart. I enjoy using my natural psychic gifts while throwing in some humor to provide everyone with a great time. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
