Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, in a small two-bedroom home with my mother and grandmother in a neighborhood now known as Westwood-Houston. We didn’t have much growing up, and there were times when my family struggled to make ends meet. But looking back, I realize that some of the most valuable lessons I learned came from those early years.
My mother and grandmother were both hardworking women who cleaned houses and offices to help support our family. My grandmother also babysat children for just $5 a day per child. She was originally from Toccoa, Georgia, where she grew up on a farm, and she believed in teaching us the importance of hard work from a very young age.
I remember going with her to clean houses when I was around nine years old. I even have an old photograph of myself at just three years old, standing on a stool washing dishes while my grandmother, grandfather, and brother worked in the kitchen. At the time, I had no idea those little moments would eventually become part of my own story as a business owner.
As I grew older, I started a family of my own and spent many years as a stay-at-home mother. After my marriage ended, I found myself facing one of the biggest challenges of my life. I needed to become financially independent, but having spent so many years raising my family, I wasn’t sure where to begin.
I tried working at a local restaurant, but it wasn’t the right fit. Eventually, I took a job with a cleaning company. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I already had the knowledge, experience, and work ethic to do this on my own.
That’s when I decided to take a chance on myself and start Mac Cleaning Services.
Starting my own business was both exciting and intimidating. I didn’t have everything figured out, but I knew I was willing to work hard and build something I could be proud of.
Today, Mac Cleaning Services provides residential cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, post-construction cleaning, and other cleaning services throughout Nashville, Hendersonville, and surrounding communities.
I take pride in my work because I understand how important it is for customers to feel comfortable trusting someone with their home or property. My goal is to provide dependable, detailed cleaning services while building lasting relationships with my customers.
Like many small-business owners, I’ve faced challenges along the way. Building a steady customer base takes time, patience, and persistence. But every challenge has taught me something, and I’m determined to continue growing.
My hope is to expand Mac Cleaning Services, reach more customers, and establish a business that people in my community know and trust.
When I look back at that little girl standing on a stool washing dishes, I never would have imagined that one day I would own a cleaning business of my own.
What started as a way to support myself has become something much more meaningful. It’s an opportunity to build a future of my own while carrying on the work ethic my grandmother taught me so many years ago.
I’m proud of where I came from, grateful for what I’ve learned, and excited about what the future holds for Mac Cleaning Services.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many small-business owners, I’ve experienced my share of ups and downs. One of my biggest challenges has been balancing the responsibilities of running a business while also being there for my family.
Over the years, I’ve faced some difficult personal circumstances, including losing my mother and taking time away from work to homeschool my son. There were times when I had to put my business on the back burner to focus on what mattered most at home.
Another challenge has been building a consistent customer base. As a small-business owner, you quickly learn that growing a business takes more than just hard work. It takes patience, dedication, and the willingness to keep going even when things don’t happen as quickly as you’d hoped.
Through it all, I’ve never lost sight of what I want to accomplish. Every setback has taught me something about resilience, and I’m proud that I’ve continued moving forward.
My dream is to see Mac Cleaning Services grow into a well-established, trusted cleaning company in the Nashville area. I know it won’t happen overnight, but I believe that with hard work, determination, and faith in myself, I can get there!

As the owner and sole proprietor, I take a very hands-on approach to my business. I believe that every home and property deserves the same care and attention I would give my own.
