Exploring Life & Business with Nataliia Sanzo of All Purpose Nutrition LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nataliia Sanzo.

Hi Nataliia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story began in the beautiful country of Ukraine, where I grew up. My taste buds and food preferences evolved over family dinners, where we ate freshly baked bread, garden-grown vegetables, and backyard-raised poultry. I took this for granted until I came to the United States and indulged in a western diet of fast food, frozen meals, and hormone-raised meats. I enjoyed this lifestyle throughout my collage years. I finished my dietetics training at Vanderbilt University, passed the board exam, and became a Licensed Registered Dietitian. Over the years, however, I started to feel sicker and sicker until 2016, when I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease—Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. It was a wake-up call and a blessing. How could such a thing be a blessing? After all, I was chronically fatigued, and had digestive issues, brain fog, and hormonal imbalances.  Well, I now understand that all those years of tears and prayers for answers have given me a purpose I would have never had without them. Because I struggle with autoimmune disease and subsequent successful remission, I now have solutions to help my clients find the support they need to get their autoimmune disorders in remission like mine.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is challenging to run a small business, especially when you’re a single-person company. I quit my 9-5 job as a clinical dietitian and started working 12 hours a day for myself. But it’s so rewarding! When I get messages from my clients or people who follow me on Instagram telling me that I changed their life for the better, it tears my eyes. Of course, it isn’t always fun and games. It’s a battlefield out there every day (laughing). There’s a lot of misinformation on Google and social media platforms about nutrition, especially when it comes to treating complex autoimmune diseases. So, I feel like I’m fighting with self-proclaimed experts and influencers online as I bring evidence-based research to people who want to heal.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since my diagnosis, I have been on a mission to share everything I learned during my journey with as many people as possible. It turns out there are a lot of people who need my help. So I opened a private nutrition counseling practice here in Nashville called “All-Purpose Nutrition.” When I work with my clients, I don’t just provide education; I provide transformation! I went from being a victim to empowered, and I want the same for my clients! My Instagram account is more than a social media platform for me. It’s a supportive community of thousands of women (and growing rapidly) who are struggling with thyroid disorders. We find inspirational stories, helpful advice, practical solutions, and guidance there.

As a Registered Dietitian, Nashville Thyroid Expert®️, and Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I want people to stop using nutrition as a dieting weapon and instead as an ally for health. My mission is to help people understand the value of lifestyle interventions and functional nutrition in restoring thyroid health.

During my one-on-one coaching, I teach my clients how to identify their unique underlying issues from Hashimoto’s and treat them with functional nutrition. But since I can’t accommodate requests for personalized coaching, I created an online course called “Your Journey to Thrive: a 30-day program for reversing thyroid symptoms.” It’s based on more than five years of experience working with thyroid patients, an exhaustive review of the scientific research, and protocols I have innovated through trial and error. I’m also so excited to announce (and you guys have an exclusive for this news!) that I’m writing my first book about autoimmune thyroid disease! It will be released at the end of this year and hopefully help millions of people to reclaim their health.
