Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron Stein
Hi Ron, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Everyone knows what a big Star Wars fan I am and Ive always loved Star Wars ( i wear a Star Wars shirt everyday, no really, everyday). It was crazy to me how many people would ask me about Star Wars, or see my SW shirts and comment on them. I thought it would be a cool idea to start a Star Wars Podcast. Well going to Sci-Fi conventions or Star Wars Celebration ( a Star Wars only convention) I met some cool people and also knew some Star Wars fans here in Nashville that I could bring on the show. So i contacted a few of them about coming on the podcast and they said yes, so i started Star Wars Jedi Chat Podcast on YouTube.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of my struggles were the editing process (I’m not a computer wiz). So with some help and suggestions from friends I was able to start learning and editing on a couple programs till I found the program I liked. It’s still a huge learning curve, sometimes I spend 8-10 hours editing an hour podcast. LOL
It was smooth at first getting a couple people to come on the show, but as i continued, I was starting to run out of people to ask, but then some of the people I had on made other suggestions about Star Wars fans that they knew and would be interested in coming on and sharing their Star Wars story
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Stein Protection & Logistics / Star Wars Jedi Chat?
I started as a Star Wars fan in 1977 when I saw Star Wars Ep IV in the theaters and I was hooked like so many people when George brought this amazing franchise to the theaters.
Later in 1992 I started my career as a police office in the Baltimore MD area for 24 years. I had done some part-time personal protection (body guard) stuff while I was still on the job, but when I retired, I moved to Nashville and started a celebrity protection business and have been doing that since 2015
We have some down time in between touring and my passion for Star Wars pushed me to creating my Star Wars podcast. I know there are a ton of Star Wars podcasts out there, but I felt mine is a little different, due to the fact that I’m bringing on different Star Wars fans ( some celebrities ) and talking about their Star Wars stories or journey. So many of the actors and actresses in Star Wars are fans of Star Wars too.
This podcast is all positive, we dont throw up any hate or negativity about Star Wars.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson Ive learned along my journey is, if there is something your passionate about your going to have a great time doing it, there will be some struggles along the way, but keep pushing , keep learning and you will be rewarded as you continue with your passion.
