Exploring Life & Business with Kim Liles of Just /breTH/ Aesthetics ; Ladies’ Lounger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Liles.

Hi Kim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From the tiniest preemies to the most critical trauma patients, I’ve spent more than 22 years caring for others at the highest level. My nursing career began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where every heartbeat mattered and precision could mean the difference between life and death. Later, I stepped into the fast-paced, high-stakes world of adult trauma at Vanderbilt — a role that demanded quick thinking, steady hands, and unwavering compassion in the face of crisis.

Those years shaped not only my medical expertise, but also my belief that true beauty is found in the way we serve others. That calling eventually led me into the world of medical aesthetics, where artistry meets science. Today, I own and operate a thriving practice in Gallatin, Tennessee, specializing in Botox, fillers, Sculptra, PRP, microneedling, and regenerative treatments. For me, each patient’s appointment is more than a procedure — it’s an opportunity to restore confidence, dignity, and joy.

But my creativity didn’t stop at the treatment room. Listening to women share their frustrations sparked an idea that would take me from nurse injector to inventor. The result was The Ladies’ Lounger — the first pool float designed specifically for breast comfort while lying on the stomach. What began as a practical solution quickly became a product embraced by women who wanted comfort without compromise.

Through every season, my faith has been the steady foundation under my feet. Whether I’m holding a syringe or sketching a product design, my mission is the same: to use my gifts to bless others and honor God. And in both my aesthetics practice and my innovations, that mission shines brightly.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has definitely not been without challenges. Transitioning from years in critical care nursing into aesthetics required me to step into a completely new world—one where I had to rebuild skills, confidence, and trust with patients in a different way. Opening my own practice meant facing the realities of entrepreneurship: long hours, financial sacrifice, and learning from mistakes along the way—all while balancing life as a mom to three boys.

Launching The Ladies’ Lounger added another layer of obstacles. From navigating manufacturing and branding to overcoming the difficulties of bringing a completely new product to market, there were many moments where the process felt overwhelming. Yet through it all, my faith has been my foundation. Every setback became an opportunity to grow stronger, more resilient, and more committed to the vision God placed on my heart.

Looking back, I can see how each obstacle was part of the preparation. The struggles not only shaped me as a nurse, entrepreneur, and mother, but also reminded me that purpose is often refined in the hardest seasons.
