Today we’d like to introduce you to Deondra A. Moore
Deondra A., we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The number one question I get asked is how I got started in relationship and intimacy coaching; I started Attuned Relationship Coaching (ARC) because of my own personal relationship struggles and the lessons I wished I’d had earlier. Back in late 2021 and early 2022, I was in an incredibly toxic relationship that was emotionally and mentally abusive. I was constantly being told how I was never good enough and then lovebombed. I would be accused of some really outlandish associations and behaviors. We ended up splitting up and getting back together, and I tried to mend fences with a list of boundaries and how we were going to do things differently or so I thought. When I found myself navigating the heartbreak of us finally ending for good and rebuilding my own life, I realized I wanted to give others the tools to transform their pain into purpose, too and a made a promise in faith that once I got out of this low, I would help others. That’s why I do this work—to help people find joy and connection, even in the hard parts
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road, especially funding the majority of my business on my own while building my clientele, programs and even writing an ebook from scratch. A phrase and saying I’ve trained to keep at the forefront of my brain is ‘if what I am experiencing is getting me out of my comfort zone, I am being stretched for growth.’ Some struggles have definitely been finding opportunities here in Nashville to speak about my work while forging my own path.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business’s mission and my own personal mission is dedicated to redefine intimacy and reimagine connections for all types of relationships – whether romantic, familial or within our communities. Our work goes beyond traditional relationship coaching by addressing the deeper emotional, intellectual, financial and experiential layers of intimacy that shape our interactions.
We specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate conflict deepen their connection, and develop relational intelligence, and most recently started an initiative coaching teenage girls in middle school and high school relationship health and intimacy education. What sets us apart is our holistic, education-driven approach – blending coaching guidance, interactive workshops, and advocacy to make intimacy education accessible and transformative.
Our proudest achievement are not only creating frameworks that empower people to recognize and heal from relational harm while fostering deeper, more fulfilling connections, but doing so by reaching as many people as possible through speaking engagements at national conferences and informing people there’s more than just physical intimacy in our e-book, “The Six Pillars of Intimacy: Building Lasting Connections in Relationships”. Intimacy is the foundation of all meaningful relationships.
We want people to know that it is possible to have the tools to break cycles of emotional disconnection and build relationships rooted in clarity, trust and harmony. And at ARC, we are here to help you understand it, achieve it and sustain it in ways that truly align with your life.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
One surprising thing most people don’t know about me or my work is that my passion for intimacy education also came from a personal story as well: My parents didn’t give me “the talk” and instead gave me a book “Questions Children Ask and How to Answer Them”. The book while meant to answers questions about EVERYTHING, it really sparked my lifelong curiosity about human connection and familial dynamics, even though I didn’t receive formal intimacy education myself. Now, I’ve turned that curiosity into a career, helping people unlearn harmful relationship patterns and break cycles of disconnection.
Also – I don’t just coach – I advocate. From working with young girls and families to supporting women transitioning out of prison and family planning, my mission isn’t just about relationships – it’s about restoring dignity, knowledge and choice in how we connect with ourselves and others.
