Hi Gabriel, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I am very proud of the team and culture we have built at Elite Mobile IV. Our clients will never understand everything that it takes and what goes on behind the scenes of our company. And that’s ok! We want it to be seamless for them. Many of our clients book us because they are not feeling well. They could be throwing up or have a brutal migraine. All they need to know is that when they book their appointment, we are taking care of everything to ensure they have a fantastic experience and are feeling much better by the end of it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I am Gabriel Abrams, founder and CEO of Elite Mobile IV.
I do a little bit of everything. As you have likely heard, “a master of all trades is a master of none.” But have you heard the rest of the quote? “But oftentimes better than a master of one.”
Before Elite Mobile IV, I was a co founder in a game studio startup. I was also involved in different crypto currency projects and education. However, I always knew my roots where in helping others. The healing arts have always been a priority for me. During these other endeavors, I was also in nursing school following the footsteps of my mother.
When I graduated, I dove headfirst into the chaos of a level 1 trauma emergency department. My time there molded me into the man I am today. The lessons I have learned there are invaluable. The time I spent there taught me valuable skills and sparked new opportunities. I turned all my efforts into helping others feel better faster and avoid having to go to the ER. This is how Elite Mobile IV was born.
As the company grew, I wanted to share this opportunity with other nurses who were feeling unfulfilled working in hospital settings and wanted to make a difference in their communities. We onboarded dozens of nurses and expanded our enterprise into 3 states. Now we give unparalleled concierge care to our clients and provide amazing opportunities to nurses.
To bring it all together, we currently continue to serve the communities we are a part of and grow our team across the world.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
My time in the emergency department completely transformed the way I see and respond to the world. One of the biggest take always is recognizing real emergencies. Everyday you face people in life or death situations. You also deal with people who believe they are in a much worse situation than they truly are.
Seeing people with real problems, like massive trauma or infection, really puts into perspective all your problems. And what you realize is that everything in your life is completely ok! You don’t have any real problems. And this is a massive relief the second you realize this. That no matter how pressing and important things may appear to be, its all an illusion, and the reality is that everything is going to be ok.
This gives your more energy to focus on the real problems in your life. The important things like health and relationships. And the peace to know that everything regardless of its outcome is going to be ok.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Before Elite Mobile IV, I experienced one of my greatest failures while running a game studio startup. We had a lot of easy success in the beginning and when times got hard, I was completely unprepared and the company collapsed. It is not success that make you who you are, it is the pain and the suffering that you go through that teach you the real lessons.
Without my first major business failure, Elite Mobile IV would have never experience the success it has. It was a hard experience for me, but it forced me into major self development. I started reading again, developing better habits, and building stronger relationships with people. Nobody is coming to save you. If you don’t like the situation you are in, only you has the power to change it.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
There are no such thing as coincidences. Every effect has its cause, and every cause has its effect. When you want to achieve something, do not focus on the effects, focus on the causes. For example, if you want to gain muscle, wishing you had more muscle is not going to help you. You need to focus on the causes that equal more muscle, such as exercise. The same goes for money. If you want to make a million dollars this year, don’t focus on the million. Focus on the inputs that equal a million dollars. Focus on your team, focus on your business, focus on doing the right thing; trust me, the money will come.
The world doesn’t work the way you have been told. Spend some time trying to understand how the world really works. Free yourself from illusion. You will make wiser choices and other people won’t be able to control you as easily. Only by pursuing truth will you become free.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When have you had to bet the company?
In the early phases of the company, we were struggling to be discoverable in the market. Nobody knew we existed. We were using the only marketing agency we could afford at the time and barely putting money into paid ads. But I met someone who changed all of that. I saw the work he had done for other mobile IV companies and he just started his agency. We would become one of his first clients. His ask was huge. It was every dollar we had made that month. This wouldn’t even include what we would have to spend on ads and SEO. Everything was on the line. If things did not pickup drastically with these new costs, we would be left dry. Years later, one of the best decisions we have ever made.
