Hidden Gems: Meet Adam Silverman of Muletown Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Silverman.

Adam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Nashville right out of college in pursuit of being a professional drummer. I have a degree in Music Performance, and so being from Maryland, Nashville felt like the right move. I did a tour and do session work as a drummer (still do sessions) for about 15 years in the CCM and Country music markets.

In between tours, I would work at a website hosting company in Franklin, TN, where I learned how to manage servers, troubleshoot website and email issues, and ultimately, I learned how to write code. I started freelancing as a website developer and worked in Nashville and with agencies in New York and LA, contracting to work as a senior WordPress consultant.

In 2017, I contemplated starting a website development-specific agency that focused only on technology. However, I knew there was more to the story than just the execution of the tech. I continued digging, asking clients what the bigger picture as it pertained to their tech – why they needed what they thought they needed, how it would make them more profitable, and what savings they would get because of building what, again, they thought they needed. That discovery process lead to some “ah ha” moments that no other agency I had worked at was addressing and expanded my awareness to more than just technology. Other agencies were only working on a piece of the puzzle. I knew we could do better it!

I started Muletown Digital in 2018 to help businesses build and enhance their actual business through the strategic and deliberate implementation websites that actually did a job. We handle everything from branding to website design/development to SEO and PPC management. By being strategic in how we approach all that we do, we ensure that a business resonates with their customers/prospects through the use of messaging, design and a clear path to the designated “Call-to-action” (schedule an appointment, buy now/purchase, join a list, etc.). For me and my team, bringing these pieces together gives us incredible joy!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s actually been pretty smooth for us. Despite Covid-19 creating some ripples, we’ve honestly had a pretty solid go of it. We’re always swamped, and because we’re a small agency, we can pivot quickly based on what’s needed in the market. We’re laser-focused on who we like to serve, and that makes it easy. Scaling is always the hardest thing in business; knowing when to scale and who you need are always challenges.

Maybe it’s rougher than what I want to think, haha.

As you know, we’re big fans of Muletown Digital. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a Digital Marketing agency that focuses on businesses typically in some phase of a growth journey. We rarely work with businesses solely looking to “replace their website”; typically, we’re working with clients that ultimately what to do some major growth.

MTD is a full-service agency offering branding/messaging strategy, website design/development, and website hosting/maintenance. Some of our growth services include Organic and Local SEO, as well as PPC Campaigns on Google. We focus mainly on search-driven marketing from a growth standpoint and then follow up with Conversion Rate Optimization to make sure the traffic converts our clients into the business.

We are VERY proud of our client partnerships and the results we’ve accomplished together. Businesses that were really struggling have created an online presence for themselves that drove their company to the next level – from hiring new people, to creating new services, and just growing their bottom line. We always tell people having a great website is a start, but that’s only the beginning.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The success of our clients is incredibly important and what ultimately drives us. As a team, we also care a LOT about our company’s culture. Our team is exceptional, made up of highly talented individuals who are also great human beings. We’re very flexible, laid back and like to have fun. If we’re feeling good, it makes it that much easier to serve our clients at the highest level – after all… that’s what we’re here for, right?!
