I’m a native of Aurora, IL, has spent three enriching years in Nashville. In 2004, she founded The Great Beauty World, LLC, initially focusing on organic hair products. Over the years, the company has expanded its offerings to include the GBW Natural Hair Academy, a premier institution for natural hair education.

GBW Natural Hair Academy: The academy provides essential natural hair courses necessary for obtaining a license in the field. Students are trained in various hair braiding and natural styling techniques.
– Business Strategy Program: GBW Natural Hair Academy offers a comprehensive business strategy program to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills needed to succeed in the industry.
– Mentorship Program: A mentorship initiative is in place to support individuals both personally and professionally as they navigate their careers in the beauty industry. Teen mothers get discounts on the programs available. Our proud accomplishment is building partnerships with Adoption/Fostering Agencies: GBW Natural Hair Academy has established partnerships with adoption and fostering agencies to offer our Natural Diversity Course©️. This unique program aims to educate multicultural families on basic hair care and product knowledge, filling a crucial gap in services provided by these agencies.
My dedication to empowering individuals through education and my innovative approach to bridging cultural gaps in the beauty industry makes me a trailblazer in my field.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being that I’m not a Tennessee native I ran into a few boundaries when it came to finding resources to help with my vision. I’m currently connected to the Williamson, Inc. Chamber and I’m looking forward to networking and building my brand.

GBW Natural Hair Academy is a newly opened institution that focuses on providing education and training in the beauty and business industry, specifically tailored towards multicultural natural hair care. The academy offers courses and programs designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in natural hair care, as well as entrepreneurship within the beauty industry.

What were you like growing up?
As a child I always knew I was going to be a business owner starting with my first candy and ice cream stand then I built a clubhouse. My ambition and determination as a child was my born character and I carried that into my adulthood and I’ve been unstoppable since.
