Hidden Gems: Meet Andrea Parra of Face and Body by Andrea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Parra. 

Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I was born in Colombia; I was certified as an esthetician in 2006 and I graduated with a BA for Physical Therapy in 2014. My endless passion for helping people of all ages with physical rehabilitation and skincare started when I was 17 years old. Since then, I have had the privilege to work in prestigious health clinics and medical spas which helped me hone my skills in both respective fields and I have applied those skills and knowledge in my work. 

My dream since I began my journey was to have a private and personal experience for my clients and their needs. After years of hard work and saving, I opened my facial and body studio in April 2021. 

Doing what I love is rewarding for me since I love helping people feel and look their best with their skin. 

The journey as a business owner has just begun for me, but I am very grateful to have the opportunity to be on this path serving my clients and growing as an independent esthetician. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
On the path of entrepreneurship, obstacles will arise. You deal with fear of failure, anxiety, uncertainty- it is not easy. It has been very important to me to stay grounded. To have the unwavering support of my husband and clients. This is not an easy business and it took firm determination and bravery just to get started. 

Moving to America, leaving my family behind, and starting all over again. The emotional burden along with the change in culture and scenery initially had me lost in translation. I am still adapting to my new life years later. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Face and Body by Andrea?
My specialty is in personalized facials and body sculpting treatments. I also am a specialist in post-operative care. 

What distinguishes me from others 

My dedication to my customers and relentless pursuit in improving my craft. The customer is always my number one priority from the moment they enter my studio up until they leave. I love communicating with each of them and guiding them to the best treatment plans for their individual needs. Also, I make an emphasis in keeping my treatment menu manageable so I can focus on constantly improving and being the best at what I do. Quality over quantity. 

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, my parents, and my brother are my greatest source of inspiration to go after my dreams. Their support kept me upright during my toughest years prior to opening my business.
