Hi Ayeshia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?

Fashion has always been more than just fabric and thread to me it’s been my voice, my passion, and my purpose. My journey as a designer began at the age of 13 when I first picked up a needle and thread. Without formal training, I relied on pure determination, creativity, and an unshakable belief in my ability to turn visions into reality. My first creation was a denim handbag that was constructed from a pair of Express jeans.

Growing up, I was drawn to the transformative power of fashion. I would spend hours sketching designs, studying garments, and experimenting with different fabrics. With limited resources, I taught myself how to sew, deconstructing old clothes to understand their structure and perfect my technique. Every stitch was a lesson, and every piece I created fueled my love for the craft.

As I honed my skills, I began designing custom garments; each piece reflecting a story of individuality, confidence, and elegance. I wanted my designs to empower people, making them feel seen, beautiful, and bold. My dedication to my craft has led me to incredible opportunities, showcasing my work both locally and across the country. I’ve had the honor of presenting my designs at prestigious fashion events, including LA Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, where my creations graced the runway alongside some of the industry’s finest talents.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey hasn’t been without challenges. As a self-taught designer, I had to navigate the fashion industry without formal training or connections, relying solely on my passion and perseverance. There were moments of self-doubt, financial struggles, and setbacks that tested my resilience. Balancing my personal life, healing from past experiences, and staying committed to my craft was not always easy. Yet, every obstacle became a lesson, pushing me to grow stronger, refine my skills, and trust my vision. The challenges I faced only fueled my determination, proving that with hard work and unwavering belief in myself, I could carve out a space in this industry on my own terms.
