Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Izzo.
Barbara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We founded our company 17 years ago. My business partner and I both worked for a large printing company and felt we could offer clients great service and quick turnarounds better with our own company. We started out very small, in a one room building off of Columbia Ave in Franklin. During that time, we won a large national account, and produced their mailers and stored them in rented semi-trucks to mail out. We progressed from there and moved to the Cool Springs area and expanded our footprint. We soon grew out of that location and moved once again to the Brentwood side of Cool Springs. We expanded once again and took over additional office space. We pride ourselves on providing a quality product, at a reasonable price, on time every time. We work closely with the USPS to ensure that our product gets across the entire country and in homes within a three days window. We work with our clients to ensure their desired results are met.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting up a brand new company comes with bumps in the road. We have never borrowed money, so we only bought what we could afford. We outgrew spaces and improvised to save money, like storing finished mail products in semi-trailers prior to mailing. Growing pains always bring some struggles as we expanded our offerings from just mailing to designing, printing and mailing. We have been very lucky to employ the best people in the industry. We have low turnover and everyone knows their jobs and can fill in for others when needed. Covid has brought new struggles. A lot of our clients couldn’t print or mail during Covid, some of them have never come back from it. So once again, we are readjusting our business model and offering more on the digital side of the business as well as the traditional print and mail. We look at struggles as new opportunities.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full-service marketing company. We offer everything from digital to direct marketing. We can build a website, offer social media services all the way to designing your digital or direct message. We also print a variety of products from postcards, brochures, catalogs, banners, posters, end caps to name a few. We mail on a national basis and can get your mail in home within a three days window.
We specialize in personalized service to each of our clients. We want to help our clients make money. Our total focus on our clients is what sets us apart. We look at any new challenge as an opportunity to help a client or company out.
One of many things we are very proud of is our ability from day 1 to offer drive time radius mailings. A grocery store might be on the shore of a large lake, if a mailer is sent out in a 5 mile radius it might be hitting prospects across the lake – people that wouldn’t drive around the lake to grocery shop. We use drive time technology to make sure we are mailing to people that can drive to that grocery store within a 5 minute drive time.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am a rabid reader. I read all types of books and blogs for pleasure and for business. One that I found very interesting and insightful was “Extreme Ownership: How U.S Navy SEALs lead and win”.
