Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Worden.
Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The journey to opening Lil Brit Vintage began far from Tennessee. Born and raised in New York,
I discovered my passion for fashion while studying at Orange Ulster BOCES from 2013 to 2014. It
was there where I first fell in love with the art of styling and the timeless appeal of vintage clothing.
Though my formal education in fashion ended there, my dedication to the craft only deepened.
After years of working in the service industry, I spent my free time scouring thrift stores for
hidden gems, dreaming of one day owning my own shop. In 2019, I made the move to Tennessee. When the pandemic hit and I had lost my job, turning
adversity into opportunity I started my online vintage business through Depop and Instagram.
My first major milestone came when I secured a Pop Up Market spot in front of the very shop I
would later own. The success of that event led to more pop-ups across Nashville and beyond, each
one fueling my dream of opening a permanent storefront.
In 2025, that dream became reality. I took the leap and opened Lil Brit Vintage in the
Murfreesboro–Nashville area, transforming a closing vintage shop into my own brick-and-mortar.
Lil Brit Vintage specializes in 90s and Y2K fashion, offering everything from VHS tapes and band tees
to concert wear and movie-inspired outfits. Each piece tells a story, reflecting my love for pop
culture and the eras that shaped it.
Now celebrating its first year in business, Lil Brit Vintage continues to grow as a community hub for
those who share the appreciation for timeless style.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road I call it more of a rollercoaster ride. Really the biggest struggle has been getting people to know were here. We are kind of a hidden gem nestled between many restaurants and tattoo shops, so we get a little overlooked!
We’ve been impressed with Lil Brit Vintage, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lil Brit Vintage carries anything from the 1920s-Y2K and sometimes even earlier!
Lil Brit Vintage specializes in 90s and Y2K fashion. I was born in the 90s and grew up in the 2000s, so for now, we’re just a little bit vintage and that’s how we came up with the name for the shop!
What sets us apart from others is our attention to detail and making sure everyone feels a bunch of nostalgia in every piece we choose for the shop.
Super proud to sell physical media here that has been my favorite item to find and chat about with others.
Would love the readers to know about all the events we host at the shop, and all the events that downtown Murfreesboro hosts! Which you can find on my Instagram or through mainstreetmurfreesboro.com!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I learned along my journey is building community and communicating with other businesses. Learning how to navigate collaborating, social media, branding and marketing.
