Hidden Gems: Meet Courtenay Rogers of CDR Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtenay Rogers. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Courtenay Rogers is an operations and technology executive with more than a decade of experience leading brand-building efforts for organizations across multiple industries. She’s the owner of CDR Consulting, where she provides underestimated small business owners with operational tools to scale and succeed. She loves a timeline and a plan but is known for her ability to think quickly on her feet and get the job done no matter what. Before going out on her own, she served as the director of Pathway Women’s Business Center, a program powered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) that provides training, mentoring, and business development opportunities for entrepreneurs at all stages of business. She currently serves as a mentor for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center’s Twende Program and volunteers for the Franklin Justice and Equity Coalition and the Williamson Social Justice Alliance. Courtenay is all about action. Courtenay is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served as an officer aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Grace Hopper after earning degrees in Naval Science and French from the University of Mississippi. She has played an active role in the marketing industry and her community throughout her career, serving as past president of the Nashville chapter of the American Marketing Association and running an inspiring campaign for the Tennessee State Legislature in 2016. Her campaign bid is the foundation for her ongoing commitment to motivating and recruiting women to run for public office. She currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Williamson County Democratic Party in Franklin, TN. Her biggest inspiration is her teenage daughter, who reminds her daily that one person truly can make a difference in the world. Courtenay is married to Yancey Casey, a Public Relations Executive. They enjoy cooking together, waterfall adventures, and spending time with family in Tennessee and Alabama.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, I’ve led a very privileged life. I made mistakes along the way, but I’ve learned from them and wouldn’t change much. I wish I’d learned more about personal finance and had been smarter with money at a younger age, so I am thoughtful in how I teach my daughter about her finances.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about CDR Consulting?
I launched CDR Consulting in August 2020 amid a global pandemic. CDR Consulting exists to provide under-estimated small business owners with operational tools to scale and succeed. I love operations and planning, so I decided to make that my career! I’m most proud of my tenacity and that I don’t let problems stop me. I’m the queen of pivoting and work with the absolute best clients, so I don’t feel like I’m working at all., I approach operations from my heart, not just my brain, and communicate honestly and openly with my clients. This is what makes me different.

What’s next?
GROW, GROW, GROW! My goal is to reach a quarter million in sales next year and bring my husband on as president to help me grow into a multi-million dollar company. I’m working on white labeling an operations tool to help me scale.
