Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Benacci Palloto.
Hi Dr. Benacci, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Back in 2019 I moved back to the US from Australia. I was the heallllthiest I had ever been there – walking, running, swimming, eating so healthy, etc. On my way back, I went to egypt for a month and fell off a horse and landed on my head and suffered a pretty severe undiagnosed and missed concussion. I also silly enough drank from the Nile because they told me if I did I would come back – and I wanted to come back!
When I got home I slowly started getting very very sick. My gut essentially turned off. I started getting verrry bloated and nutrient deficient. I had immense brain fog, couldn’t focus, started drinking a lot, eating so so poorly – I was in a pretty bad place.
That summer it got so bad I had to go to the ER. I couldn’t work bc I was in so much pain and couldn’t even hold a bowl movement.
I was given an endoscopy and was told I had a plethora of viruses, parasites, and stomach ulcers – I was down bad bad. Thankfully during this time I met a Chiropractor across the street that said he could help me out. I was confused but obliged bc I was desperate since the one medication the hospital put me on wasn’t helping anything and only making me sicker.
he started adjusting me and helping my system regulate on its own. I started slowly getting better, we ran some labs and figured out I needed to change things in my diet and get on a supplement protocol to kill the infections in my gut. its a journey that I am still on but I have healed my gut through these wholistic techniques to a place where I have the freedom to eat how I want and not be in pain.
This healing inspired me to become a chiropractor, and when I got to school I discovered functional neurology which helped to find healing for my concussions, brain fog and set backs I was having neurologically. on top of that I’ve always been very emotionally attuned and it lead me down the route of studying Functional Psychosomatics and treating people’s Body’s through Emotional work. I have so so much more I want to learn, but the results I am getting with people by healing their inner parts through movement is profoundly unique and quite honestly unheard of.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a really really hard road. I was sick for a long time – it caused me to retreat in ways I had never had to. I had to stay behind on things, I started getting nervous to go out bc I was in so much pain and it caused me to not feel good or not really want to be social or anything. on top of that Ive had undiagnosed ADHD my whole life from developmental delays and traumatic situations. I just recently felt brave enough to get a proper diagnosis. So I’ve fought an up hill battle to learn and become a doctor and now, with all the hard work and healing and people I’ve met along the way, I finally feel like I am in a place where I can truly start to flourish.
We’ve been impressed with Flourish Brain Care | Chiropractic Neurology, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a chiropractic neurology practice where I specialize in unresolved and complex cases – whether its gut issues you’ve dealt with for decades, neurological disorders like pots, ASD, anxiety/panic, parkinson’s, dementia, stroke – you name it. we get to the base of it together, with full access to me and everything I have to offer from my multiple studies of music, engineering, aviation, biomedical, chinese medicine, martial arts, applied kinesiology, nutrition, homeopathy’s, neurology, psychology – I am multiple practitioners in one. and together, we can get to the root of what’s happening in your life and figure out how to get you back to living life the way you want to.
I think something that sets me apart is my openness. you dont need to be anything to see me. I’ve had a tough life and learned to made the most of it. I’m a liberal queer man in a highly straight and conservative field that makes most spaces not safe for a lot of minorities or people that do not fit into those sociodynamics. I have worked my whole life to be a safe space for others and to show up strongly for what you are navigating, and to empower you in whatever process you are in.
I want people to know that you have support here. you’ll be heard, seen, and believed here. I offer all sorts of modalities of healing from adjustments, soft tissue massage, needling, neurology, exercises – really the opportunities are endless of finding what helps your system become synchronized with your will and intensions.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I have also started a health center called The Human Center. Flourish practices out of locations in East Nashville and Franklin and I dream of it expanding to many locations around Nashville. At The Human Center you will be able to get care from multiple highly experienced doctors, hyperbaric, foot baths, massages, red light therapy, even a cup of coffee. It’s going to be a place for whoever you are. all you have to be is human to be welcomed, wanted, and accepted.
