Today we’d like to introduce you to Hanna Bee Tucker.
Hi Hanna Bee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Grew up loving horses and being a total tomboy. When I hit high school, I grew an interest for modeling. Coming from a total jock family, this was definitely new territory for my parents. Especially since I had a new little brother with multiple disabilities. That presented its challenges but also brought us all closer in so many ways! I ended up traveling the world and was able to experience some sweet cities like Shanghai, LA, Miami, Peru. I was told I was too short at 5’8.5″ to make it in New York. I ended up living in New York City for three years modeling for Cover Girl, Abercrombie, Target, Sak’s 5th Avenue, Teen Vogue, Claire’s, television shows, and more! With the television cross over it led me to some TV hosting for New York Fashion Week and then into radio where I hosted The Hanna Bee Show! Had such a blast interviewing people like Bebe Rexha, Randy Jackson, Bazzi, Bryce Vine and more! Started my radio career from the bottom as a promotions assistant, doing the highest of grunt work like carrying and setting up 50lbs speakers in 115 degree weather and waking up at 3am to board op. From then, I worked my way to a digital show on Dash Radio which brings us to Nashville where I was brought on to work as the midday host on HOT 106.7.
That was an insanely incredible journey that I will be forever grateful for through all the highs and lows, I learned so much. COVID hit and I got let go. They did bring me back part-time for a Sunday show a couple of months later, but I realized with all this downtime it was the perfect opportunity to pursue my dream of a having a coffee company full time… A life goal that I recently found was inspired by the homey feeling coffee brings, reminding me of my mother and I’s conversation over a cup of overly creamed hot coffee before and after school.
It’s crazy how everything just happens for a reason! I would work on the coffee here and there when I could, but now it’s blossomed into a full reality!
I named the coffee after my radio name Hanna Bee Coffee. We sell beans online as well as a mobile bar cart we just launched called the GOLD BAR! We stand for fairness in the workplace, luxury, simplicity, giving back, with a side of Malibu ranch meets Nashville farm. Sooo exciting to see where this journey leads and to keep growing!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Everything… Just kidding, so many things every step of the way. I will say the more scared I was and bigger the leap, the bigger the reward! I will say the hardest thing is patience. Especially as a business owner, your forging your own path and a business needs time to grow. You don’t want to rush it. Each step is a whole new adventure of learning. That’s also the beauty of it though while forging your own path, you get to make the decisions instead of waiting for “that call” or “big break.”
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Hanna Bee coffee is a specialty coffee boutique. We sell high-quality coffee beans online and are also super excited to announce that we just launched our mobile bar called the GOLD BAR!! You’ll see us taking it out on the streets primarily 12 South, Germantown, markets, special events (available for bookings), local parks, and more! Our signature Lola beans are from the Highlands of Indonesia that will definitely bring you on a luxurious vacation with every sip! Its dark chocolate, floral, and citrus flavors will definitely win you over.
We’re a brand that embodies our feminine side (without excluding men). Think inclusive exclusivity. Luxury yet simplicity! Our brand is about enjoying the little things in life and knowing “it’s okay to #beextra” and treat yourself! We’re also big on fairness in the workplace.
We are excited to continue our growth from here on out! Soon we’ll be launching our Spread The Sparkle Program’s Monthly Give Back Beverage where we donate proceeds from a signature latte each month to a great cause!
We also don’t want to serve you just any drink either we want to serve you an experience. For example, our Cotton Candy Infused Latte has all the visuals and Instagram content you need in one beverage. Have us infuse it for you or do it yourself as the cotton candy slowly disintegrates into the espresso shot and milk.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I’ve learned success is defined in so many different ways. It just depends on the individual. I would say personally success to me is achieving ultimate happiness. To me, that’s reaching all of both my personal and business goals. You definitely need a balance between the two. You’ll never be happy if you achieve success in the business world and no one to share it within your personal.
