Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Summers.
Hi Jacqueline, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My passion for health and nutrition really began through athletics. I grew up as a competitive swimmer and went on to swim collegiately, which sparked my interest in the connection between nutrition, performance, recovery, and overall health. That experience ultimately led me to study Exercise & Sports Science and pursue a career in health and wellness.
Early in my career, I managed a nutrition clinic in Colorado, where I gained hands-on experience helping people use nutrition to improve not only their weight, but also their energy, gut health, hormones, inflammation, and overall quality of life.
In 2019, I founded Nashville Nutrition. Since then, I’ve built a personalized nutrition coaching practice working with clients locally and virtually across the country.
My philosophy is that nutrition shouldn’t feel restrictive, complicated, or stressful. I focus on real food, sustainable habits, anti-inflammatory nutrition, blood sugar balance, gut and metabolic health, while teaching clients how to make choices that actually fit into their lives.
I’m also a single mom of two, which has given me an even deeper appreciation for how challenging it can be to prioritize your health while balancing a career, family, and everyday life. It’s a big part of why I believe healthy living needs to be realistic and sustainable—not perfect.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of people improve their health, confidence, and relationship with food. Nashville Nutrition has become so much more than telling people what to eat—it’s about education, accountability, support, and empowering people with the tools to take ownership of their health for life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building Nashville Nutrition while also navigating major life transitions has required a lot of resilience, adaptability, and faith. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to learn how to wear every hat—coach, business owner, marketer, content creator, salesperson, and everything in between.
One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance entrepreneurship with being a single mom of two. There are seasons when growing a business and being fully present for my children can feel like competing priorities, and I’ve had to learn to give myself grace while continuing to move forward.
I’ve also learned that entrepreneurship is rarely linear. There have been financial ups and downs, changes in the industry, moments of self-doubt, and times when I’ve had to completely reevaluate what was working and what wasn’t. But those challenges have pushed me to evolve both personally and professionally.
Ultimately, the difficult seasons have made me more resilient and, I believe, a better coach. They’ve taught me that real, sustainable change doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from consistency, perseverance, and being willing to keep showing up.
We’ve been impressed with Nashville Nutrition , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Nashville Nutrition is a personalized nutrition coaching practice I founded in 2019. I specialize in weight management, metabolic and gut health, blood sugar balance, and anti-inflammatory nutrition.
What sets Nashville Nutrition apart is my individualized, real-life approach. I don’t believe in restrictive diets or one-size-fits-all plans. I teach clients how to understand food, read labels, make better choices, and create sustainable habits through personalized guidance, education, and accountability.
I’m most proud of the lasting relationships I’ve built and the transformations I’ve witnessed. My goal is simple: give people the knowledge, tools, and confidence to take ownership of their health and create results that last.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe growth often requires taking risks. Starting Nashville Nutrition in 2019 was a huge leap of faith—I chose to bet on myself and build something from the ground up.
I’ve also taken risks personally, navigating major life changes while raising two children and building a business. I’ve learned that taking a risk doesn’t mean you’re fearless; it means trusting yourself enough to move forward even when you don’t have all the answers.
