Hidden Gems: Meet Jenny Fann of Jenny Fann & The Gurus Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Fann.

Hi Jenny, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m actually a third-generation REALTOR®. My grandmother owned her own brokerage in Florida and my mother was an award-winning broker in California, so it’s in my blood. As a kid, I used to sit in my mom’s office after school and do my homework. I would drink water from a coffee cup and look through a giant catalog of homes for sale. I really thought I was a big shot (laughs). So, it was a natural trajectory for me to go into real estate. There’s definitely coffee in that cup these days…lots of it.

We moved to Nashville when I was 14 years old. Franklin was still a small town back then. I’ve watched it grow to become one the most sought-after places to live in America. After graduating from college and spending some time in the corporate world and as a stay-at-home mom, I realized I still had the real estate bug. I stepped out in faith and got my license. I had no idea where it would lead.

Now I’ve sold more than 250 homes and over $100 million in sales in the past six years. I started as an individual agent and over the years have grown a small, but powerful, team of fourteen amazing professionals – Jenny Fann & The Gurus. A “Guru” is an acknowledged leader in his or her area of expertise. They are regarded as a respected expert. Our Guru team members have decades of experience and know that selling or buying a home is a HUGE decision. It’s surreal at times but we continue to grow and I know I’m working in my gifts. I’ve been in middle Tennessee for over 30 years and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It was absolutely terrifying at times, but I just kept my focus on serving people. When I got into real estate, I didn’t know what to expect. I guess I had the “HGTV” goggles on! It was not a smooth road because I had to learn what it takes to own and grow your own business. Being a business owner, especially in real estate, when you wake up in the morning and go to work, you just HOPE you end up getting paid. It’s like waking up every single day to a giant pile of Legos spread out on the floor. You have the chance to build something great with each piece. It takes hard work and dedication but the rewards for our clients can be life-changing. When you love something, you persevere.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The joke is, EVERYONE knows 10 to 12 realtors. I wanted to find a way to be the one who stood out. I knew that would take more than just putting a sign in the yard and having a cute headshot. My team and I strive to exceed industry and client expectations and to provide exceptional direction and support. This is reflected in the services we provide. Over the years, I have learned what helps make the home buying or selling process more stress-free and put that knowledge into action. Our team provides professional staging, photography, inspections, and home cleaning for every client who lists with us, at no cost. We work with incredible professionals, our Guru partners, and walk with the client every step of the way.

It’s such a joy to be invited into people’s lives for a short time. It’s a huge transition. I love to make that transition smooth and stress-free. Our end goal is to always create lasting and long-term relationships. Our clients become part of our Guru family. They are included in many events throughout the year such as Fann Forward Fridays (where we give back to the community each month), Fann Jam (where we celebrate our partners and clients), and even special touches like birthday cards and “Housiverary” cookies.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe based on market research, trends, history, and what we are seeing, the middle Tennessee real estate market will remain strong for years to come. It’s really fun to be at the center of the growth and to be the first to welcome new homeowners to the great state of Tennessee. It is predicted that home values in our area will continue to rise at a record pace. It’s a great time to be a homeowner in Tennessee!
