Hidden Gems: Meet Jillian Bowden of Hello Motherhood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Bowden.

Jillian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Jillian Bowden is a devoted mother of three and the founder of Hello Motherhood in Franklin, Tennessee — a prenatal and postpartum educational and support space that’s redefining what postpartum care looks like for new moms. Jillian is originally from Southern California where she met her husband who is from Georgia. Her husband always wanted to come back to the South, so their family moved across the country and sought out a new adventure. When Jillian had her first baby in California, she was a young mom herself in a time where non of her friends had babies yet. In the mist of becoming a new mom and trying to find her footing in the new season of motherhood, she was encouraged by someone close to her to connect with other moms whose babies were the same age — a small but life-changing step that transformed her motherhood journey.

When her family relocated to Tennessee, Jillian felt a calling to create what she once needed: a supportive space where moms could come together, connect, learn and feel truly understood. That vision became Hello Motherhood—a welcoming community where new and expecting mothers not only build lasting friendships but also gain valuable education and guidance from the area’s leading local experts.

As a mother and community-builder, Jillian is passionate about ensuring no mom feels alone in the early days of motherhood. Through Hello Motherhood, she’s creating the village every mom deserves—right here in the heart of Franklin—offering both meaningful connection and trusted knowledge to help moms thrive.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. As a mother myself, I’ve struggled with time management and the constant weight of mom guilt. It’s hard to find balance — especially as a business owner doing something I truly love. I love what I do so much that it is hard not to work when I am at home. The line between work and home life often blurs, and it can be challenging to know when to stop and just be present.

Like many new moms, I felt that I lost myself and was trying to figure out my new self and purpose. After moving to Tennessee, putting my energy into building Hello Motherhood gave me a renewed sense of purpose. At one point in life, I was new young mom and now I am a working mom and a mom of multiple children. I know firsthand the challenges that come with each stage—and that experience has allowed me to truly connect with moms who walk through our doors seeking support.

I’ve loved getting to know and collaborate with the best local experts in Nashville and Franklin—professionals I trust to educate and empower our moms as they discover what works best for themselves and their families.

So many of us face the same questions: Do I go back to work? How do I balance my own needs while being a present parent? Being able to hold space for those conversations and reassure other women that they’re not alone — that their feelings are valid — has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. My own challenges have become a bridge to deeper connection and meaningful support for the moms I meet every day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hello Motherhood?
Hello Motherhood is a prenatal and postpartum education and support space located in Franklin, Tennessee. We support women throughout their motherhood journey — from pregnancy through postpartum and into toddlerhood. Our mission is to create a supportive, inclusive, and empowering space where moms can learn, grow, and connect with other moms who truly get it.

We offer a wide range of classes and series that serve not just the mom, but the entire family — because when a mom is supported, the whole family thrives. Our prenatal classes, such as Birthing 101 and Baby Care 101, are taught by an incredible team of local experts who are all nurses, doulas, lactation consultants, and fellow moms so they truly understand it all. We know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to motherhood, and our experts honor that — bringing both education and compassion to meet families where they are.

One of our most loved offerings is the Mommy & Me Series, where moms are grouped with other moms who gave birth the same time for 8 weeks. Our offerings include Mommy and Me 0-2 months, 3-6 months, and 7-12 months. Moms meet with the same group for 8 weeks learning about a new topic each week regarding their babies age and their stage postpartum. Some of the topics includes sleep, starting solids, postpartum mental health, purposeful play, and more. It’s education, connection, and real support all in one. Education is one of the main components of the series but not all. While moms are gaining support from our experts, they are connecting and bonding with other moms going through the same experiences.

The Mommy & Me Series is more than just a class—it’s a full experience designed to build lasting memories and real community. Along with weekly classes, moms enjoy a professional mommy and me photoshoot, a planned moms’ day out, a family picnic, and a special celebration with a meaningful keepsake craft. Moms are also entered into a supportive group chat with their series where they can message each other at all times of day and night. Whether you need someone to check up on you during a late night feeding, or get a recommendation for a pediatrician, moms have their group to lean on. After the series ends, moms are invited to join our alumni-only Facebook group where the connection and community continue with a larger network of Hello Motherhood moms.

In addition to our series, we host weekly toddler playgroups and music & movement classes for all ages to keep little ones engaged and socializing. We also offer fun and informative pop-ups on important topics like Potty Training and Baby Safety. From pregnancy through toddlerhood, our studio provides a wide range of classes to support every stage of motherhood.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how we’ve built a space where moms feel seen and never judged. We honor every motherhood journey and work with the most trusted local experts in the Franklin and Nashville area to ensure that the support and education we offer is not only excellent but also deeply compassionate. We strive to provide moms with a “guide book” full of the best resources for their motherhood journey. Whether the mom needs a pelvic floor therapist or a postpartum mental health therapist or if they need support regarding their babies sleep or their babies physical development, they will find guidance with us.

Whether you’re expecting your first baby or chasing after a toddler, Hello Motherhood is here to walk alongside you — with open arms, expert guidance, and a village of support.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Franklin is the growing population of young families. There’s such a vibrant, welcoming energy here — always something to do, see, and experience in our beautiful town. People are kind, joyful, and truly make Franklin feel like home. Our studio is located near downtown Franklin, so many of the moms in our classes will grab coffee, lunch, or head to Pinkerton Park together before or after class. It’s the perfect mix of a charming town with endless opportunities, while still offering the calm and ease of the countryside. Franklin is truly a magical place to raise a family!

It is very hard to find anything I don’t like about Franklin, it is hard to compare it to anywhere else. If there’s one thing I wish we had more of, it’s support for new and young moms. Franklin and Williamson County is growing at an extremely fast rate bringing in a lot of new families looking for a place to call home. People moving here are eager to find community, friendship and their new trusted specialists. I hope to be apart of the change with Hello Motherhood and grow it into a space to continue serving moms who are at the center of our community. My goal is to make sure every new mom in Franklin feels supported, seen, and never alone in her journey through motherhood.
