Hidden Gems: Meet Jim O’Brien of Journey Biker Church

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jim O’Brien.

Hi Jim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We started Journey Biker Church in 2014. We are a non-denominational Church meeting people where they are at (as Jesus did). In September, we just celebrated our 11th year! We saw a need in the Church of people being real, people doing life with people. As an avid Motorcycle rider. I personally have seen this in the motorcycle community, but not always in the Church (where we should see it the most).

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all! Being a motorcycle church (not all people ride at JBC, nor is it required). We were told we may make it 1 year at best. We have had many nay sayers. With that though, we have made a big impact on our city with our rides, supporting our community. Through the negativity, people are seeing us as a Church of doers, not speakers.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a Church for all! We are non-denominational, preach the Word of God and are real! We believe it’s important to do life together, invest in one another and grow in Christ. Becoming who HE created you to be!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I believe I have the greatest job being a Pastor! Seeing people growing in their walk with God, becoming who Christ created them to be! Helping people in our community and making a difference.
