Hi John, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started in Digital Marketing after my Father and I had to shut down his Electrical contracting company in 2008 because we were unable to keep a consistent flow of jobs coming. Our referral network dried up and we found that we were not equipped to advertise and were almost completely invisible online.
I decided that day, I would learn everything I could about digital marketing.
I spent over 10 years learning, testing and doing some small freelance work. In 2021, I decided it was time to begin my own agency. I had no idea where I would find my first official client so I started doing barter work. My first two clients still have amazing visibility online and do quite well.
In 2023, I was able to go 100% Full Time with Tristar Marketing Solutions and have consistently built systems in Local SEO, PPC Advertising and Social Media Marketing that continue to evolve daily.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course not! If it were a smooth road, everyone would do this.
From August 2025 – February 2026, I found myself at my most challenging crossroad. I experienced client churn and staff turnover. I was faced with a decision of a lifetime. Shut it down or dig in and do it right.
There were times throughout the past 5 years where I thought the answers were external. So I hired “coaches” and bought “courses.” I guess you could say this was me learning the hard way! haha
The thing is, Tristar wasn’t built to be a churn and burn agency. This agency is built on relationships with my clients and that is what makes it worth every minute. For brief moments, I lost sight of that.
Another challenge I have worked through is adopting AI development into my agency, which had some speedbumps along the way. It has proven to be one of the most valuable assets in Tristar with our own proprietary tools and systems developed that sets us apart from the pack.

I can say that I am truly blessed to be the owner / founder of Tristar Marketing Solutions. I have successfully broken out of the corporate world and I am never looking back.
