Hidden Gems: Meet Jon Wood of Antique Revolution LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Wood.

Hi Jon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started buying and reselling antiques when I was about 21 years old. My journey began when a family member introduced me to a local auctioneer, and what started as a simple opportunity quickly turned into a passion. From auctions, I moved on to yard sales, flea markets, and antique shows, steadily building my knowledge and inventory along the way.
What began as a side venture eventually grew into a full-time business. To be honest, I never imagined it would become what it is today. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far Antique Revolution has come—from a one-person operation to a growing business with employees and customers across the country.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the impact the business has had on my local community. Being able to create jobs, support local events, and connect people with pieces of history has been incredibly rewarding.
I truly love being a small business owner, even though it was never something I originally envisioned for myself. What started as a hobby has grown into a career that allows me to do what I’m passionate about every day, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I feel owning any small business is a roller coaster. There are highs and lows, but if you’re willing to stay committed and keep moving forward, you’ll find success. One of my favorite quotes, which I see every day in my shop, is from Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” That mindset has helped me through many challenges over the years.
One of the biggest struggles I faced was managing bookkeeping and inventory as the business grew. When I started, I never imagined the volume of inventory Antique Revolution would eventually handle. As the business expanded, I quickly realized I needed better systems and a stronger understanding of the operational side of running a company.
What helped me most was investing in myself. I took online courses to improve my bookkeeping and organizational skills, and eventually hired an employee to help manage inventory and day-to-day tracking. That allowed me to focus on what I do best—sourcing unique pieces, building relationships with customers, and continuing to grow the business.

As you know, we’re big fans of Antique Revolution LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I started Antique Revolution when I was 21 years old, but it took nearly a decade for the business to truly grow into what it is today. One of our first major breakthroughs came when we sold an item to Sheryl Crow. That experience gave us confidence and visibility, and from there bigger opportunities began to follow.

Like many entrepreneurs, it took time to discover exactly what I was passionate about. Over the years, I found myself most drawn to antique advertising, folk art, and industrial furniture. Those categories still make up the heart of our business today, although we also carry vintage clothing, mid-century pieces, and a wide variety of unique finds.

What sets Antique Revolution apart is the diversity of our inventory. I have a very eclectic eye when sourcing, which means our collection is always changing and there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a statement piece for your home, a rare collectible, or a piece of Americana, we strive to offer items that tell a story.

I also come from a family of business owners. My grandfather operated a small local business and always taught me to treat customers like family. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my career. One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is when someone walks into one of our booths a year after we first met and we can pick up right where we left off.

Above all, we’re committed to making unique antiques accessible to people across the country. If an item is listed by Antique Revolution, we’ll get it to you. We ship throughout the lower 48 states and take pride in helping customers bring a piece of history into their homes.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
In case any of y’all come to Round Top Texas antique show. My booth is always in Tin Star which is technically Warrington Texas and we are the last booth on the left. Love to see y’all there!!
