Hidden Gems: Meet Josh Misko of Incubate Talent Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Misko.

Hi Josh, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m a touring musician, entrepreneur, and California transplant that hitched my cart to a group of boutique Southern business cats that’d gotten a belly full of the corporate grind. Private equity, artist booking, management, events production, talent acquisition, sync, music publishing… We’ve all been exposed to the corporate machine and knew we wanted to operate differently. With our shared skills and resources, we banded together to become the Voltron of boutique artist management. It’s funny, at different points in our careers Trey has worked for Chad, Ashley has worked for Trey, and I’ve worked for Ashley. Brad’s out in left field as the private equity guy, but he’s brilliant and finds the music industry fascinating. Teamwork really does make the dream work, cliché as it sounds.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be completely honest, it’s been pretty smooth. We role lean, and COVID created a unique opportunity for us to hunker down and identify exactly how we wanted to incubate talent. By the time events and shows began to execute again, we were well into the swing of our operation.

As you know, we’re big fans of Incubate Talent Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Incubate Talent Group is different because we begin with the end game approach of up-streaming our artists. This opens up a world of opportunity for developing artists, as well as allows us to have upfront, honest conversations with the larger firms who may be a better fit, post-incubation. That’s our special sauce. Aside from that we pretty much do what all artist management firms do. We just like to think we do it better.
