Hi Justin and Alex, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are two brothers from a family of restaurateurs. Our grandfather immigrated from Greece and opened several restaurants in the Chicago area, eventually working his way down to his final restaurant in Sparta, TN. Our father also carried on the tradition with restaurants of his own.
After spending over a decade in banking, we decided it was time for a change. An opportunity arose, and we felt a pull to return to our roots. Brothers Tavern is our way of honoring the family legacy while bringing something fresh to the community. We’re proud to serve a menu inspired by generations of family recipes, blending the familiar with the new.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Although we grew up in the restaurant world, there’s a big difference between doing prep work as kids and running a business as adults. The industry has changed dramatically since our father’s and grandfather’s time. Strategies that worked then don’t always apply today.
We’ve had to learn and adapt to current trends, technology, and guest expectations, while staying true to our roots. It’s been challenging, but also incredibly rewarding.
