Hidden Gems: Meet Justin Wright of Bible Story Kids

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Wright.

Hi Justin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I learned a lot of Bible stories as a kid but never saw the connection between them and my day to day life. I created Bible Story Kids for children to not only learn Bible stories in a fun way but also show them how these stories and truths can guide them in their daily life.

This started with a different name and a different product. It began as Bibbelbubs and I made Bible story bath bombs that had a specific toy in each bath bomb that went along with a Bible story from the book that was included in the set. The stories are narrated by Bubbee the Bear and after telling a Bible story he connects the toy (usually some kind of animal) to a moral from the Bible story. People loved the bath bombs and the stories but I ran into a major problem.

Even though my bath bombs were organic raw ingredients there are still a majority of children that can’t use them due to sensitivities and previously bad experiences with other bath bombs.

This lead me to change everything. I switched the bath bombs out for an advent style punch box. You start by finding the story number on the book and matching it to the box to find the toy. Now every child can use the Bible Story Adventure set.

I kept dreaming about how to make this experience even better.

Inspired by the wonderful and one-of-a-kind Fred Rogers I decided to make an episode for each story. It is a low-dopamine style show, in true Mr. Rogers fashion, and combines conversation, story time, and an original song to help children learn and remember Biblical principles.

There are a lot of things I wish I had learned about my faith as a child and this is my opportunity to provide those lessons and revelations to others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a wild journey full of major wins and low lows with months spent questioning the business and ministry.

I don’t know of anything else like Bible Story Kids that combines a story book, toys, show, and songs. I point that out because when you are doing something completely new it can take time for people to see the scope and join the dream of what you are trying to do.

Whenever I feel discouraged I remind myself that this is the point when most people quit. I have had to learn to let go my expectations and trust that God has me on this path for a reason and will bring things about in his timing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Bible Story Kids is bigger than a book series with toys.

It is an entire world created from stories, songs, videos, and learning materials.

My dream it that kids come and learn about God in a way that speaks to their minds and hearts but also that the stories and songs remind parents of the goodness of God as they read or watch along with their children.

When kids watch the show, I want them to feel like they stumbled into a safe place where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions through faith-filled stories, songs, and conversations.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My wife is a saint. I can only imagine what it is like being married to a dreamer. She is incredibly supportive and always offering to help. She believes in Bible Story Kids and that means the world to me.

Another huge helper is Josh Curd who filmed and edited all of the videos for me. He volunteered his time, which was a lot of time, because he believes in the mission of Bible Story Kids.
