Hidden Gems: Meet Kate Condon of Organize 65

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Condon.

Hi Kate, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. My classroom was always functioning efficiently and beautifully because of the systems in place for myself and students. When I left teaching, I was a full-time nanny. Running a household, especially one that is not yours, requires organization and efficiency. Those things just came naturally to me. I began looking into a profession that would allow me to use my organizing talents.

I started doing projects for friends and family thinking I would go work for another professional organizer. I had enough current clients and referrals that I decided to jump all in and start a business of my own after promoting from many friends.

Honestly, I love this work so much and my client referrals keep this business thriving.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I am not business savvy. Some entrepreneurs come into their work with so much expertise about how to run a business and all of the “admin” that goes on behind the scenes. That is the part I struggle with the most. I absolutely love the client interaction and the organization part of the job. Taking a client’s home from cluttered to calm is a challenge I’ll accept every time. Provide a profit and loss statement and execute all the right tax forms… I’d rather hand off that challenge.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Organize 65 is a professional organization company that wants to be there for you on your journey to organization. Luckily the umbrella of organization is very big. We tackle projects from kitchens and pantries to closets and kid’s spaces. But we also provide services under the move management category. We prep homes to be photographed to be put on the market. We pack clients to move. We do whole house unpacking projects, taking all of the burdens of move-in day off of the client.

Some clients need paper clutter work while others need Christmas set up and takedown. We can handle almost any job that makes your home run more efficiently.

We offer free consultations to see if we are the right fit for you.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t know if I see it as luck as much as I do as destiny. I am meant to play a role in the lives of people I meet. We have so many different types of clients from all walks of life and I think that sets us apart. We aren’t just working in the homes of the rich and famous. People from all over Nashville are calling on us to make their lives better and I believe that is destiny.
