Hidden Gems: Meet LaTonya Martin of Grande Style Homes LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTonya Martin.

Hi LaTonya, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
People often assume my story began when I became a Realtor, but it actually started much earlier.

I was just 19 years old when I purchased my first home. At an age when many of my friends were renting, I made the decision to invest in real estate. I didn’t fully realize it then, but that single decision changed the trajectory of my life. It taught me that homeownership wasn’t just about having a place to live. It was about building wealth, creating opportunities, and investing in my future. That lesson has stayed with me throughout my entire career.

As a Nashville native, I’ve had the unique privilege of watching this city grow into one of the most exciting places in the country. I’ve witnessed neighborhoods transform, businesses thrive, and families build their futures here. That connection to Nashville gives me a deep appreciation for the people and communities I serve every day.

I began my real estate career in 2002 with a passion for helping others experience the same opportunities that real estate had created for me. My goal was never simply to sell houses. I wanted to educate people, build lasting relationships, and help families create generational wealth through homeownership and real estate investing.

In 2006, I founded Grande Style Homes with a vision of creating a boutique brokerage built on integrity, personalized service, and education. Building a business from the ground up wasn’t always easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced market shifts, economic uncertainty, and the many challenges that come with growing a business. Those experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of continually learning and evolving. Every challenge became an opportunity to grow stronger, both personally and professionally.

One of the greatest rewards of my career has been watching my clients’ stories unfold over time. I’ve helped first-time homebuyers purchase their very first homes, and years later I’ve celebrated with those same clients as they upgraded into their dream homes, became investors, or purchased homes for the next generation of their families. Moments like those remind me that I’m not simply helping people buy and sell real estate. I’m helping them build lasting legacies.

As my career evolved, so did my passion for education. I realized that many people wanted to build wealth but simply didn’t know where to begin. That inspired me to create the Wealth Building Summit, an annual event dedicated to teaching people about real estate investing, development, financing, entrepreneurship, estate planning, and wealth preservation. Seeing attendees return each year and share how the knowledge they gained changed their financial future has become one of the most fulfilling parts of my career.

I’ve also had the opportunity to expand beyond traditional real estate by working with builders, developers, investors, luxury clients, and professional athletes. Along the way, I accepted an opportunity to become a television host on *The American Dream: Selling Nashville*. Stepping in front of the camera was outside my comfort zone, but it reinforced something I’ve learned throughout my life: growth happens when you’re willing to embrace new opportunities. Today, I enjoy showcasing not only beautiful homes, but also the businesses, neighborhoods, and people that make Middle Tennessee such a special place to call home.

Looking ahead, I’m excited about what’s next. I’m expanding my work in luxury real estate, land acquisition, development, and real estate education while continuing to create opportunities that empower others to build wealth. I believe the future of real estate is about much more than buying and selling property. It’s about creating lasting impact through education, strategic partnerships, innovation, and community.

When people ask what success means to me, it isn’t measured solely by the number of homes I’ve sold or awards I’ve received. Success is seeing a family receive the keys to their first home, helping a builder bring a vision to life, watching an investor grow a portfolio, or hearing from someone who attended one of my events and took the first step toward building generational wealth. Those moments are what continue to inspire me every day, and they are the legacy I hope to leave for future generations.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most entrepreneurs, my journey has definitely not been a smooth road. Every stage of my career has brought new challenges, but each one has also brought valuable lessons.

One of the biggest challenges was building my own brokerage from the ground up. When you start a business, you’re responsible for everything, from finding clients and building systems to managing finances and creating a brand people trust. There were times when I wore every hat in the business, and success required long hours, sacrifice, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when the outcome wasn’t certain.

At the same time, I was balancing the responsibilities of being a parent. Raising a family while growing a business meant learning how to prioritize what mattered most, make the most of every hour, and sometimes accept that there wasn’t a perfect balance. There were days when I was showing homes, attending school events, volunteering, and working late into the evening. Looking back, those experiences taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of being fully present wherever I was. My children have been one of my greatest motivations to keep building something meaningful.

I’ve also experienced the ups and downs of the real estate market. I’ve worked through changing interest rates, housing market shifts, and economic uncertainty. Those seasons taught me the importance of adapting, continuing to learn, and focusing on serving clients rather than chasing transactions. Markets change, but relationships, knowledge, and integrity remain constant.

Another challenge has been learning to balance being a business owner with being a leader, educator, and visionary. As someone with a lot of ideas and a passion for helping others, I’ve learned that growth requires building the right team, creating systems, and trusting others to help bring the vision to life. That has been one of my biggest personal growth areas.

I’ve also learned that success isn’t always measured by how quickly you achieve a goal. Some of my biggest opportunities came after setbacks or disappointments. There were projects that didn’t move forward, partnerships that weren’t the right fit, and goals that took longer than expected to accomplish. Looking back, those experiences helped prepare me for even greater opportunities.

Perhaps the biggest lesson has been realizing that resilience is one of the most valuable qualities an entrepreneur can have. Every obstacle has strengthened my faith, deepened my purpose, and reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. My mission has always been bigger than selling real estate. It’s about helping people build wealth, create opportunities, and leave a lasting legacy for their families.

If my journey has taught me anything, it’s that challenges don’t define you. How you respond to them does. Every obstacle has shaped the leader, broker, entrepreneur, and educator I am today, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Grande Style Homes LLC?
Grande Style Homes is a boutique real estate brokerage based in Nashville, Tennessee, built on the belief that real estate is one of the most powerful tools for creating wealth and building a lasting legacy. While we certainly help clients buy and sell homes, our mission goes far beyond the transaction. We strive to educate, empower, and guide our clients through every stage of their real estate journey.

Our clients range from first-time homebuyers to luxury buyers and sellers, investors, builders, developers, professional athletes, and families relocating to Middle Tennessee. We specialize in luxury homes, new construction, land acquisition, development opportunities, investment properties, and strategic real estate planning. Whether someone is purchasing their first home or assembling land for a future development, we take a personalized approach to helping them achieve their goals.

What truly sets Grande Style Homes apart is our commitment to education and long-term relationships. We don’t believe in simply opening doors or writing contracts. We believe in helping our clients understand the “why” behind every decision so they can make informed choices that benefit them for years to come. Many of our clients return to us throughout different stages of life, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch them grow from first-time buyers into investors, builders, or owners of their dream homes.

Another part of our brand that I’m especially proud of is the Wealth Building Summit, an annual educational event I founded to help individuals and families learn practical strategies for building wealth. The summit brings together experts in real estate, development, lending, entrepreneurship, estate planning, and financial education because I believe knowledge creates opportunity. Seeing people leave inspired and equipped to take the next step toward their financial goals has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

As a Nashville native, I also take great pride in helping people discover everything Middle Tennessee has to offer. I’ve watched our region grow tremendously over the years, and I enjoy helping clients not only find the right property but also find the right community. Through my work as a television host on *The American Dream: Selling Nashville*, I have the opportunity to showcase the neighborhoods, businesses, and people that make our city such an incredible place to live and invest.

At the heart of our brand are relationships, integrity, professionalism, and service. We measure success by the trust our clients place in us, the referrals they send our way, and the lasting relationships we build. We want every client to feel confident knowing they have a trusted advisor in their corner, whether they’re buying their first home, investing in commercial property, developing land, or planning for future generations.

If there’s one thing I hope readers remember about Grande Style Homes, it’s that we don’t just help people buy and sell real estate. We help people create opportunities, build wealth, and leave a legacy. That’s the foundation of our business, and it’s the purpose that continues to drive everything we do.

What does success mean to you?
Success has meant different things to me at different stages of my life. Early in my career, success was measured by closing transactions, reaching sales goals, and growing my business. While those milestones are important, my definition of success has evolved over the years.

Today, I define success by the impact I have on others. It’s seeing a first-time homebuyer receive the keys to their very first home. It’s helping a family preserve and grow generational wealth through real estate. It’s working with a builder to bring a vision to life, assisting an investor in reaching their goals, or hearing from someone who attended the Wealth Building Summit and took action because of something they learned.

I also define success by the relationships I’ve built. Many of my clients have become lifelong friends, and there is no greater compliment than when they trust me to help their children, parents, or friends with their real estate needs. That kind of trust is something I never take for granted.

Personally, success means creating a life that reflects my values. It means being present for my family while pursuing my purpose. It means continuing to learn, growing as a leader, and using the knowledge and opportunities I’ve been given to help others succeed.

I don’t believe success is something you achieve once and then you’re finished. I believe it’s a continuous journey of growth, service, and stewardship. Every day is another opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

At the end of the day, I hope my legacy isn’t simply that I sold homes. I hope I’m remembered as someone who educated people, opened doors of opportunity, inspired others to dream bigger, and helped families build wealth that will impact generations to come. To me, that’s what true success looks like.
