Hidden Gems: Meet Monique Baisden of Monique C. Baisden Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Baisden

Hi Monique, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a native of Atlanta, GA and a current resident of Franklin, TN. I matriculated through the Atlanta Public School System before attending and graduating summa cum laude from Clark Atlanta University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Communications & Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University. After graduating from college, I taught for 4 years in the Atlanta Public Schools System where I learned that teaching at the elementary school level was not for me. After leaving the teaching profession, I experimented in multiple jobs and careers until I discovered my God-given purpose as a minister, storyteller, advocate, and change agent. Currently, I am a grad student at Lipscomb University where I am pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Entertainment, Design, and Creative Enterprise. My concentrations in this program are screenwriting, television writing, and film and TV business, as I own a production company and we are branching out to produce TV shows, short films, and documentaries. Additionally, I received my Christian Life Coaching certification a few years ago, and I minister to and provide Christian life coaching to those who are in transition and to those who are struggling to identify their calling and purpose in life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road for me at all. For years I struggled with my purpose and my identity. For years I accepted the labels and false identities that were placed on me by other people instead of seeking God and asking Him why I was created and what I was called to do in the world. These things hindered me and stalled me in multiple areas of my life, and for years, I couldn’t see any progress in my life and I often felt behind in life. Additionally, in 2011, I became a family caregiver to my Dad after he experienced an unexpected fall that led to a traumatic brain injury, and he had to learn how to walk, talk, eat, and just take care of himself all over again. This began my 13 year journey as a family caregiver to him, and later to my Mom, who had leukemia for 20+ years and was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2021. I was a caregiver for 13 years for my Dad until he passed in 2023, and I was a caregiver, off and on, for 5 years for my Mom who just passed away in April of this year.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In 2018, I launched a predecessor company, GetLinked Events, with a group of friends. This company was an events production company that conceptualized, hosted, and executed events for Christian creatives, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations. Our two signature events under this company were Networking with a Purpose and Dining with a Purpose. (I will continue to produce these two events under my current company, Monique C. Baisden Productions.)

In 2020, I launched another predeccessor company to Monique C. Baisden Productions, and that company was named 4 The Kingdom Entertainment (which was later changed to 4 The Kingdom Enterprises). 4 The Kingdom Entertainment’s most notable project was a global social justice and human rights anthem that I wrote entitled “Enough Is Enough.” I also co-produced the music for this song, as well as, served as the Executive Producer, Co-Director, and Co-Producer for the advocacy music video. “Enough Is Enough” was previously selected, screened, and received multiple recognitions at the 2021 Voices Rising Film Festival, the 2021 Richmond International Film Festival, and the June 2023 Indie Night Film Festival in Atlanta, GA.

In 2024, I launched my current company: Monique C. Baisden Productions. This company encompasses the event production services of GetLinked Events and the songwriting, music production, and storytelling services of 4 The Kingdom Entertainment. Overall, we are a faith-based, advocacy-focused and mission-oriented production company that strives to tell the stories of the voiceless, the overlooked, the underrepresented, and those whose stories aren’t always told. Additionally, we strive to help our corporate and nonprofit clients tell the stories of their organization’s work and also bring their organizations’ stories to life in a way that leaves a makes a meaningful impact and leaves a longlasting impression with their target audiences.

What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to completing my MFA degree in Entertainment, Design, and Creative Enterprise at Lipscomb University. I am also looking forward to working with and serving the corporations, nonprofit organizations, churches and other businesses for whom Monique C. Baisden Productions will create and produce visionary and impactful productions and events. I am also looking forward to writing, directing, and producing my own TV shows, short films, and documentaries.
