Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Weaver
Hi Patrick, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Coming from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, I started learning music at age 8 when I signed up for piano lessons. While I never developed an interest in playing the piano, I was interested in music altogether and just needed a proper outlet to express that joy. Two years after picking up the piano, I quickly signed up for cello lessons after switching schools, and almost immediately, I found myself playing more and more of it by comparison, eventually foregoing the piano a couple of years later. Throughout high school, I would pursue cello playing at the highest level, earning multiple contest wins and placements in regional orchestras. At the same time, however, I became fascinated by modern technology, programming, and electric engineering through my time on the school’s robotics team. It was looking like I would begin to pursue a career in electrical engineering, but in the back of my mind, I didn’t want to pursue a lifestyle where I couldn’t make music or play the cello. I researched college programs that would offer me the best of both worlds, and above them all, Belmont University provided the best program available, and what better place could it be in than Nashville, Tennessee?! I studied audio engineering technologies with a minor in cello performance, meeting a variety of colleagues and mentors who have inspired me to go above and beyond with my work. I started my career in music production with the band I play in, Black Baccara, featuring many of my closest friends who entrusted me to encapture the vision of their songs. Soon after the band’s first release, “Who Are You?”, I began work with another local band, STCHZ, where we worked on two songs that were released in December of 2024. I’ve begun to expand my horizons as a producer and am now working with artists of various different genres, experience, and backgrounds with several big ideas that will be released throughout the 2025. Keep an eye out for my works and be sure to follow all the artists that I work with to make sure you don’t miss a beat!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While I’ve had it better than many in my field, it has still been a hard path to develop as strong of a client base as I have. I came from an area with little to no music industry presence and had little to no advising on how to be a professional producer, so I learned all the skills I use regularly in my practice at a later point in my life. Therefore, I had to catch up on basic concepts of audio engineering that many of my peers were already familiar with, forcing myself to work twice as hard to achieve the same results. Luckily, my background in musical training, composition, and basic theory proved to be an effective aid at helping distinguish myself from my peers, who were more focused on chord charts and drawing from sample writings compared to my understandings of intonation, spectral balance, and artistic musical structure.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Weaver Production Management?
Weaver Production Management is a private, independent, production organization that works with rising artists to get their music produced, published, and distributed. What’s next?
With my clients doing well with their releases and demand for more music on the rise, I’m looking to begin work on even bigger challenges. I hope to produce my first EP length releases this year as well as working with as many new clients and singles as I can manage. The future is looking bright at Weaver Productions, and I’m excited for the path both myself and the artists I work with have ahead!
