Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachael Farkas.
Hi Rachael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
With over 20 years of experience working with children with Autism, as a special education teacher and in ABA settings, I’ve seen firsthand how insurance limitations often leave families without the full support they deserve.
I founded Mindful Voices Autism Consulting to bridge that gap and provide customized family support for children impacted by Autism. Mindful Voices Autism Consulting services include but are not limited to: a 3 phase intensive potty training program, guidance through the diagnosis process, support during community and athletic activities (restaurants, shopping, soccer, dance, etc.), and ongoing collaboration to meet each family’s unique needs
Mission: To empower families and children with Autism through individualized strategies, compassionate guidance, and meaningful inclusion in all areas of life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Working with the children and families has been amazing because I get to do what I love! The challenges have been around running a small business; sales, marketing, and accounting has had learning curve.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We work with families and children that are impacted by autism. What sets us apart is we provide customized support for families with special needs children. Our services are unique to each family’s situation and we provide a personalized approach. One of the most popular services offered is the 3 phase intensive potty training program. We were the first provider of this service offering for families with special needs in Tennessee..
Families should know that Mindful Voices is a Katie Beckett reimbursable provider- meaning, our services are underwritten and completely covered for our special needs families. We specialize in autism support as well as potty training for our special needs friends. This service is especially valuable as children with autism often need a specialized approach with potty training due to their unique needs. Our approach begins weeks before the actual training, by providing the parents support and guidance as they prepare their children for readiness. This support continues after the training as well with regular checkins and guidance.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We regularly present sensory-based events in the middle Tennessee area with other friends and partners in the space. Other providers are welcome to reach out and be in touch to collaborate and participate in these events. They are free to the public and one of the volunteer service offerings we are most proud of- drawing dozens of families for a fun, inclusive afternoon in celebration of upcoming holidays and events. Our next event is Santa’s Sensory Wonderland, being held on December 13 at the Drury Hotel in Cool Springs. This will be our largest and most successful event yet as participation is already at an all time high with early family sign-ups! Please join us for this exciting event!
People wishing to work with us, are welcome to reach out as well via Email, Instagram, or Facebook messenger.
