Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Ruiz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my business Soulstice Beauty lab in Summer of 2020. I initially enrolled in Beauty School November of 2019 and had no idea what the next couple months would be like due to the uncertainty around the Pandemic. I went into beauty school thinking I wanted to do facials and corrective skin care but took a lash course in hopes to help build my clientele, so by the time I graduated beauty school I had some clientele.
I quickly developed the skill for lashing and fell in love with it. I started by practicing on my close friends and family. At the time I was servicing people out of Antioch. My set up was very simple, literally just a lash bed with a ring light in the corner of my living room. I really focused on Social media to promote my work and build my portafolio. This truly helped expanding my clientele along with referrals from existing clients who I am deeply grateful for,
I lashed from home for about 2 years. Then moved into my first shared suite in Nashville and was there 9 months, I then ended up relocating to hermitage, where I am blessed to be able to have my own suite and have been there for about 3 years now,
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think anyone who pursues entrepreneurship faces obstacles and challenges along the way. For me a lot of it has been a learning experience. I jumped into entrepreneurship with no knowledge or background in business. Surrounding myself and building relationships with other entrepreneurs and people who have already dealt with specific hurdles has helped keep me accountable and moving forward even when things get tough. I am often reminded that no one really has it all figured out. Allowing yourself to be a beginner at something will go a long way with determination

I always try and put my best foot forward in everything I do. I am thankful to have the support of friends and family and clients, my business would be nothing without them. I consider myself to be someone who has always been optimistic about her life and future so I truly beleive its been Gods favor and not luck.
