Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The Link Lab is a custom jewelry small business specializing in Permanent Jewelry, Charm Bar, and Engraving experiences. We’re proud to be Charlotte, NC’s #1 destination for friends, family, and fun! We also have a team in Nashville focused on Bachelorettes, Private Parties, and Corporate Events.

The Link Lab was born in the summer of 2022 for my daughter as a way for her to earn extra money during her senior year of high school. Inspired by our own permanent anklet experience in 2020, we transformed part of my Permanent Makeup studio into a welcoming space for her to start this venture.

We never imagined it would become such a success and impact lives in the way it has. What began as a simple way to earn extra money quickly grew into a family business with a team of four in Charlotte, NC, and a travel team operated by our cousins in Nashville, TN.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The business concept was immediately successful. However, while I have experience as a business owner in the service industry, I was new to retail. Managing inventory was initially a challenge, as was the rapid pace of growth. Since we self-financed this endeavor, expansion without significant capital remains an ongoing challenge.

We have hosted pop-ups at major events, including NC A&T State University, Signify Health, and Sixty Vines Charlotte.
