Hidden Gems: Meet Taylor Griest of Zach Taylor Real Estate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Griest. 

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Originally from Eagleville TN, in 2017 my husband (Zach Griest) and I moved to Clearwater Florida and I worked alongside him from the beginning. I helped run daily operations and many administrative aspects of his real estate business from accounting, marketing, photography, and more, before helping in the creation of Zach Taylor Real Estate, I grew my passion for photography into a very successful real estate photography business in the Tampa Bay area (Griest Photography). I have been hired for million-dollar properties in the same neighborhoods as Tom Brady and Derek Jeter. I became the go-to photographer for realtors across Tampa Bay, Florida. 

In 2020 we made the decision to move back to Middle Tennessee and start our own brokerage, Zach Taylor Real Estate. We are now in the top 5 fastest growing offices & top 75 largest firms in Middle Tennessee with 80 agents & counting. We put people and community first and we are always looking for ways to help our agents succeed. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every business has its highs and lows. In the beginning, we were 100% virtual, but we soon realized this was hindering our growth. So, in March of 2022, we opened our first physical office location in Murfreesboro TN. We now have a place for our agents to work from, bring clients, or host team meetings and training. My productivity has also increased as well. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Zach Taylor Real Estate, we are doing things differently! Our agents earn 100% of their hard-earned commission and only pay a monthly fee & a transaction fee at closing. My role within the company is Administrative Manager and my main focus is our agents. I love being able to provide our agents with support and help them in every way possible. From answering questions, creating custom marketing materials, and planning different office gatherings and training, our agents are my main focus. 

Additionally, I am most proud of our Giving Back Program we started. Every month a portion of every agent’s monthly fee gets donated to charity. Currently, we are donating to Operation Underground Railroad and Agape Animal Rescue in Nashville. Along with monthly donations, we also hold quarterly volunteer opportunities throughout Middle Tennessee. We have the privilege to volunteer with amazing organizations Agape Animal Rescue, The Sheaphards Foster Closet, The Mobile Food Pantry, and more! 

People are my passion and I love being able to not only give to our agents but to others within our community as well. 

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Growing up in Middle Tennessee, I am grateful every day that we were able to move back and build this incredible company in the place that I love. Murfreesboro/ Nashville has always held a special place in my heart, so returning to my roots and being surrounded by amazing people has been a dream come true.
