Hidden Gems: Meet Victoria Sisson of Emerald Creative

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Sisson.

Hi Victoria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Emerald Creative started during a season of my life where I knew I wanted more creatively. I was working in marketing full-time, but I kept feeling pulled toward building something of my own that felt more intentional, creative, and personal than what I was seeing from a lot of brands online.

I started taking on freelance social media clients on the side, originally just wanting to help businesses create content that actually connected with people instead of posting for the sake of posting. What surprised me was how quickly it grew through referrals, relationships, and word of mouth. The more brands I worked with, the more I realized this was something I genuinely loved building.

Over time, Emerald Creative evolved into a creative agency focused on social media, branding, and digital storytelling, primarily for lifestyle, hospitality, and real estate brands. My approach has always been rooted in creating content that feels elevated and strategic while still feeling human and relatable.

A huge part of the journey has been learning to trust my creative instincts, take risks before I felt fully ready, and grow alongside the business itself. Looking back, Emerald Creative was built slowly through consistency, relationships, and a genuine passion for creating brands people want to connect with.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, and I think that’s true for most people building something on their own. Emerald Creative grew during a time where I was balancing a full-time marketing career while building the business on nights, weekends, and honestly whenever I could fit it in. There were a lot of moments where I questioned whether I was ready, experienced enough, or capable of turning it into something sustainable.

One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to wear every hat at once (creative director, strategist, client manager, editor, designer, business owner) while also trying to maintain balance personally. Social media is also an industry that changes constantly, so there’s pressure to keep evolving creatively while still delivering results for clients.

I also think there’s a misconception that creative work is always glamorous, when in reality a lot of entrepreneurship is consistency, problem solving, and figuring things out in real time. But looking back, those challenges are what shaped both me and the business the most. They taught me resilience, confidence in my creative vision, and how important relationships and trust are when growing a brand organically.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Emerald Creative is a creative marketing agency focused on helping brands build a stronger online presence through social media, branding, and digital storytelling. We primarily work with lifestyle, real estate, and service-based brands that want their online presence to feel elevated, intentional, and actually connected to the people they’re trying to reach.

What sets Emerald Creative apart is that we approach social media as both strategy and storytelling. It’s not just about making something look pretty or chasing trends. It’s about creating content that reflects the personality of a brand and gives people a reason to engage with it. I think people are craving authenticity more than ever online, and that’s something I try to bring into every project.

A lot of our work focuses on creating brands that feel warm, modern, community-driven, and visually cohesive. Whether that’s managing social media, building a content strategy, creating campaigns, or helping shape a brand’s digital identity, the goal is always to make brands feel more human and memorable online.

What I’m most proud of is that Emerald Creative has grown very organically through relationships, referrals, and trust. I’ve been fortunate to work with brands and teams that genuinely value creativity and collaboration, and I think that’s reflected in the work we create together.

More than anything, I want people to know that Emerald Creative is built on the belief that thoughtful branding matters. The way a brand makes people feel online matters and in a world where so much content feels fast and impersonal, I want our work to feel intentional, creative, and lasting.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
One of my favorite things about Nashville is how much the city continues to grow and evolve. There’s always something new opening, a new neighborhood developing, a new restaurant to try, or some kind of event happening. It has this energy to it that feels really inspiring creatively, especially working in marketing and branding. I also love that Nashville still manages to feel community-oriented despite how quickly it’s growing.

If I had to say one challenge, it would probably be keeping up with that growth. As exciting as it is to see the city expanding, I think a lot of people who live here also feel the growing pains that come with it like traffic and affordability to how quickly certain areas are changing. But overall, it’s a city that feels full of opportunity, creativity, and momentum, which is a big part of why I love being here!
