Inspiring Conversations with Alexander J. D’Alessandro of MOBILE MECHANIC MUSCLE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander J. D’Alessandro.

Hi Alexander J., we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began working on vehicles at age 19 alongside my father and my brother, Sal. What started as a personal interest and hobby gradually developed into a long-term vision. I spent years working on my own vehicles while building hands-on experience and industry knowledge.

I have extensive experience in the automotive industry, beginning with many years in parts sales before advancing into service management. I later served as a service manager at Pep Boys as well as at a dealership that has since closed. These roles allowed me to develop a strong foundation in diagnostics, estimating, customer relations, workflow management, and overall repair operations.

In 2020, I officially began operating my business on a part-time basis while continuing my automotive career. During this period, I provided mechanical repairs, body work, and performance services, typically working between 10 and 40 hours per week as my schedule allowed. Although I had long intended to transition into business ownership full time, ongoing health challenges that began in 2015 created hesitation, and several ideas remained unexecuted.

During that time, I prayed for clarity and direction, and I firmly believe God answered those prayers by placing me in a career that aligned perfectly with my needs, including the ideal location, income range, and work schedule. I committed that the following year I would step away and launch my business full time. Ultimately, I felt compelled to take that step sooner than planned. I resigned from my position, transitioned into business ownership earlier than expected, and that decision has led me to where I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Transitioning from an employee with strong drive and vision into business ownership revealed just how much true investment, commitment, and responsibility it takes to build something from the ground up. The reality of entrepreneurship came with significant growing pains. There were many difficult decisions, major sacrifices, and extended periods without days off. Months were spent working nonstop, accompanied by countless sleepless nights and constant pressure.

Despite the challenges, every sacrifice has been worth it. This business is my creation and my responsibility, and it has shaped who I am. I am now operating my second business, and I would not change this path for anything. Entrepreneurship is not just a career choice, it is a way of life, and I could never return to working for someone else.

Today, I continue to work hard and remain fully committed, but I have also learned the importance of reinvesting in myself. I make a conscious effort to step away when needed, spend time with my family, and prioritize the people and things that matter most. Growth has taught me balance without sacrificing ambition.

I look forward to continuing to expand, challenge myself, and operate outside of my comfort zone as I build toward what comes next.
