Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandros Darsinos.
Hi Alexandros, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story takes many turns. In my youth, I was an avid artist, but also a soccer player. During my high school years, I left the US to pursue soccer in Europe and see where that path could take me. When that chapter of my life eventually ran its course, I returned to the US to focus on university, and more specifically, architecture and design.
I went through school adamant about immersing myself in design and understanding it as deeply as I could. I later had the opportunity to work abroad before eventually returning home to my family in Nashville, where I started my own firm and began designing with the freedom I had always wanted. That freedom—to create, explore ideas, and build things on my own terms—was always the goal.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am a firm believer that everyone has their own struggles, and those struggles are always relative to the individual. We all have our own obstacles to face and our own things to overcome.
For me, I have been through a lot as well, but when I compare my struggles to the generation that gave us the life we have today, like my father’s generation, I always feel very fortunate. Because of that, I try to look at the struggles I face as opportunities to overcome and continue living the life that the people who came before us worked so hard to create for us.
They went through war, hardship, sacrifice, and struggles we may never fully understand so that we could live with more freedom and opportunity. They worked hard to give us this life, and I feel a responsibility to make the most of it and make them proud.

Everything you should know about me is that I stay true to who I am in everything I do. Leo Vas is a brand rooted in the heritage and history that came before me, while also allowing me to explore design and the world I live in today. The brand exists at the intersection of these two worlds—a design experiment focused on creating a unique sense of style, beauty, and lifestyle to be enjoyed by all.
My approach to architecture is organic and sculptural, and I bring that same design philosophy into clothing. Through Leo Vas, I explore the relationship between form, material, history, and the human experience, creating pieces that reflect both where I come from and the world I live in today.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is being able to work every day on the things that truly define me as a person. For me, that’s my family ties to Greece, my love for my wife’s Indian culture, being creative within the design world, and also being present in my Nashville community.
I’ve been fortunate to create a world where I’m able to work on all of these things that are deeply important to me, and to build a life around the people, cultures, and creative work that continue to inspire me.

- Because we are able to do so much of the work ourselves—from the design, to sourcing or developing fabrics, to the stitching and production in-house—we are able to keep Leo Vas a very accessible boutique brand. Our price points vary depending on the piece and the collection, but overall we are quite affordable when compared to other brands offering a similar level of quality, craftsmanship, and uniqueness. That is something we are very intentional about. We want people to be able to experience thoughtful design, beautiful materials, and handmade details without feeling like those things have to come with an unreachable price point.
