Inspiring Conversations with Alexisa Humphrey of Lexy’s Travel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexisa Humphrey.

Hi Alexisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I recently retired from the military and wanted something to keep me occupied.

My children and I travel a lot and I always book trips and plan itineraries for family and friends, so I decided to make it into a business. I am new to the business, but I have made many bookings and a lot of new prospective clients and partnerships.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are many struggles in the business.

One of my biggest is distinguishing between who is truly trying to book and who is not. I get a lot of people asking for quotes, but end up not booking the trip or simply not responding back without a reason.

We’ve been impressed with Lexy’s Travel Company, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a travel advisor who helps people make travel arrangements, which include booking flights, cruises, hotels, sightseeing tours, and making dining recommendations. I also help couples plan destination weddings and honeymoons.

I do not ask for a research fee like most advisors, which I think sets me apart from others. I also will work to get the best deal. Lastly, I’m also about to expand services by selling travel access including luggage, bags, etc. But that is in the works. I want to ensure I have the best pieces to offer everyone.

What do you think about happiness?
I am happy just being alive. Every day is a new day to make a difference. I love helping others and I try to give back when I can.
