Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyssa Sanderson.
Hi Alyssa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story starts off with me graduating high school and then going to college. I went to college for only a semester and then realized it wasn’t something that I really wanted to pursue. I knew I wanted to become an entrepreneur, but I didn’t know exactly what that looked like for me. So, I dropped out and started my journey as an entrepreneur.
In my search of what business, I wanted to start, one of my good friends introduced me to credit repair. I didn’t know anything about credit other than how it messed me up financially because I wasn’t educated about it. So that sparked something in me to where I wanted to be that vessel that educates our communities about financial literacy, the power of credit & what that looks like for us.
For the first 2 years of my credit repair business, it was difficult as I was younger and people didn’t really believe that a 20-year-old could possibly know anything about credit & finances so that’s when I started doing a deeper dive into my craft, personally developing myself and self-confidence, self-love, growing & elevating myself as a woman and business owner to show to others and myself that I can be the multi-faceted woman that I know I can be in this industry and still be young & very knowledgeable while doing it! So, I increased my level of knowledge in credit repair, financial literacy, and real estate.
By the 3rd year, my new normal was showing more of myself out in the field educating my communities at events, traveling to different states to meet new people and guide more individuals that wanted more for themselves in the right direction, and doing more videos of me dropping gems and shedding light on what we need to be focused on in our lives that full fill us and better us as the people that we want to be for ourselves, our families, and our children instead of the world of social media where REAL lives aren’t glorified and people show what they want people to see.
I want people to know that the people they look up to on social media aren’t technically real. They only show what they want you to see. You don’t see their struggles, their trials, their tribulations, their anxiety & suffering that they go through because that isn’t glorified nor shared and I let people know that and give them the reality of real-life so they can learn how to live the true and authentic life that they’re destined to live.
So, with that being said, my business doubled and grew tremendously after putting myself out there. I worked with real estate agents within my first 3 years of having my credit repair business to help them grow their businesses & help their credits grow their credit scores so they can be in a position financially to attain homeownership and get to the closing table faster.
Some agents even walked me through their day-to-day processes and what it looked like to be a realtor on the back end. I’ve always had a passion for real estate. As a kid at the age of 7, I grew up to my parents exposing me to the most beautiful houses in the most sought cities that people want to live in even now (Brentwood, Franklin, College Grove, Thompson Station, etc.) we would go to open houses every Sunday like it was a tradition. That’s how I fell in love with real estate.
As I was growing my business and my marketing on social media, I kept on getting the same questions from everyone even my clients, “Are you a realtor?” “Can you help me buy a home?” “How can I get in a position to buy a house?” and I started to realize that I could help more people and service my clients at a higher level through real estate and also position their credit for excellence all at the same time! So, it became a no-brainer and I ended up getting my real estate license within 2 months after that, and then within my first 6 months, I sold my first properly.
Since then, I have evolved and partnered with one of the Top-Tier Financial Literacy Companies in GA, Vix Oden Consulting, and they have helped me position and align an overflow of first-time homebuyers, investors, and relocation clients to attain real estate in this hectic market! This has been the most rewarding journey that I’ve been on and I feel it in my bones that this was the path that God wanted me on and help his people attain ownership in something that is equity-building and is appreciating at a high level.
Homeownership is the fastest way to creating generational wealth and I’m honored to be able to help so many individuals with transitioning on the path from someone else owning where they live to them now owning where they live!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road down this path.
There were some challenges and obstacles that I had to overcome in order to continue to grow and flourish within this industry. I’ve had to lose friends, family members, people that I thought I couldn’t grow without but losing those people made me realize that they were only hindering my growth and not contributing to it.
The other struggle I had was adapting from just running my credit business to now having to run 2 full-time businesses. Real estate isn’t as easy as everyone thinks it is. There is a lot that goes into it other than helping someone list & sell a home or buying a home especially If you want to be a top-tier realtor and not just a mediocre one.
Paying attention to details, doing your research/due diligence on everything, pushing through the fear and anxiety to put yourself out there, being knowledgeable, running numbers, having excellent marketing, etc.
There is so much that can hinder you if you don’t work hard enough, but in my experience, if the thing you love to do the most doesn’t always challenge you to grow and level up mentally, physically, intellectually, and financially then it isn’t your real passion.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Arbitrage Brokers?
Arbitrage Brokers is a Minority-Owned & Woman-Owned Boutique Brokerage that’s ran by one of the best of the best in the real estate game in Nashville, Staci Coleman. She is a Top Producing realtor and I’m honored to be a part of her vision for her company and strive for excellence in all things real estate and more.
She has helped me overcome my fears as a business owner and always staying true to me and my values in my businesses and how to overall stay consistent within my craft.
Arbitrage Brokers is an amazing brokerage and I wouldn’t switch up on it for anything!! I love where I’m at and being one of the top-tier realtors in Nashville and Surrounding Counties.
I specialize in Residential, Commercial, Investors, and Relocation clients. Occasionally, I help homebuyers who are looking to transition into homeownership within the next year or 2 get into a luxury lease or rental property as well. I’m also known as the marketing queen; I structure my marketing in a way that it’s clean and crisp and property displays/represents who I am as a woman and business owner in this industry.
I’m also a Senior Credit Specialist with Vix Oden Consulting, one of the top Financial Literacy companies in Georgia, where I position people towards attaining excellent & established credit to achieve their goals and I even help with establishing and building business credit for my business owners as well. What sets me apart from others is that I’m not a realtor that gets their license just to say they have it.
I have a passion and a goal to help my people revitalize their communities and bring something to the table that others don’t. Knowledge & education is power nowadays, land isn’t being made anymore. We need someone out there that’s going to teach and educate people how to acquire more of it, the people in our communities especially this upcoming generation, the millennials, and our parents’ generation need to know how important ownership is than another asset that you can attain.
It requires a totally different mindset from people and we need someone that can teach us how they can make the shift into owning more assets than attaining more liabilities. Creating more first-generation homebuyers within our communities and bringing affordable living back to life in Nashville and surrounding is exactly what I’m going to do.
I am that voice for the community and I’m very proud and passionate about it. The brand that I’ve built so far is one that I’m grateful, thankful, and very proud of and I’m continuously building, growing, and evolving that brand to shape it into something that will be passed along down generations and will become a household name.
The impact I’m looking to make in our communities is to change the way buyers and sellers are represented and how they are served at the utmost level. I hold myself and my business at a high standard and every goal that my clients have that they need help with achieving will always be attained in excellence every single time.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Spending every Sunday at church, then going to get lunch, and then driving around different towns going to open houses and seeing how real estate changes depending on locations and price points and admiring all of the finishes, artwork, architecture in the home, etc.
Some homes even had elevators and when I saw that at the age of 7, I was amazed at what homes had and that’s what actually sparked my interest in real estate. I’ll never forget the things I saw as a kid when we would go look at homes and I even remember a house we went to, the seller invited me to a pool party to his new house if I won a bet with him that his house would get sold that same day and I talked to everyone at the open house and even told some of them that if they bought the house I would be able to go to a really cool pool party lol.
By the end of that week, my mom told me she received a call from the seller that said his house got an offer on it that Sunday and went under contract a couple of days later so I ended up getting invited to the pool party at his new house (which was the best pool party I went too as a kid) and that was my favorite childhood memory.
