Inspiring Conversations with Ashley Hodges of PT Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Hodges

Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Belmont University in 2011 following a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee. My career began as the physical therapist for the touring Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Growing up as a competitive dancer, this was an ideal position for me.

I then spent 4 years living in New York City providing treatment for numerous Broadway shows and performers including The Lion King, Wicked, and West Side Story.

I moved into the world of music and concert performers, touring as the PT for Duran Duran and personal therapist for Shania Twain on their respective world tours.

These experiences in providing personalized treatment inspired me to establish PT Nashville, where I can offer individualized care to help people feel their best, tailored to their convenience.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Physical therapy school itself was a challenge! It required extensive hours of studying and hard work to obtain a doctorate degree.

Working with Broadway performers entailed long hours, often six days a week, and a hectic touring schedule, constantly moving from city to city. Yet, the incredible people I’ve met and the rich experiences I’ve gained have been invaluable, and I now draw on them every day in my practice.

As you know, we’re big fans of PT Nashville . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
PT Nashville offers concierge physical therapy and wellness, convenient to you and your schedule.

Individualized movement evaluation and assessment, hands on manual therapy including deep tissue, active release technique, dry needling, and cupping. Followed by specific corrective exercise and functional mobility to benefit your needs, as well as the ability to get in contact with your practitioner at any time.

Physical therapy is not only rehabilitation after a surgery or injury. I look at the person as a whole, not just one body part, to address and improve any imbalance causing strain or pain, and utilize treatments to improve your overall well being and efficiency.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am also a certified Pilates instructor!
