Inspiring Conversations with Ben OConnor of Ben OConnor Music Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben OConnor.

Ben OConnor

Ben, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My love for America has resulted in a life on the road, living full-time in our self-converted tour bus and planning a tour to perform for America’s veterans… coast to coast!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think every artist faces doubts, hardship, and depressive times.

I’m blessed with an amazing family and incredibly good people rooted in my corner… this keeps me disciplined to keep pursuing this love for music and America no matter the deficit.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We have provided corporations such as American Airlines, Mastercard, Oracle, Synchrony Financial, and many more with live entertainment and event production services in nearly every corner of America. We specialize in an experience many of our clients have described as “rare”… in that we provide complete concert logistics, production, and entertainment anywhere on the map.

Our process is seamless, our customer service is timely and we take great pride in developing professional relationships into friendships. We’ve done this now for nearly ten years and venues range from theaters, ballrooms, festivals, backyards, boats, and even intimate gatherings in living rooms!

We are excited for the launch of our new clothing brand called WanderRags! This brand reflects the way we live our lives on the road, always seeking the next adventure. The best part of this new company is the mission to send US Veterans to beautiful American destinations. 25% of profits will go towards this initiative. Check out the big release on October 1st at www.wanderrags.com!!

Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Don’t study what other musicians/artists/bands are doing.

The industry is quite saturated and replicating isn’t a good way to stand out. We have found a good level of success by studying corporations, the marketing strategies they employ, and adapting them to the musical world.
