Inspiring Conversations with Chelsea McKinney of DigiBridge Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea McKinney.

Hi Chelsea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I began my career in video journalism and really enjoyed giving others a platform to share their story. In that role, you are required to do it all, from conceptualizing the story all the way to promoting it on social media. Over time, I started to no longer align with that industry and found that my skills were transferable to marketing.

While I learned a lot from those experiences, I began to realize that what I wanted out of my career was anything but traditional. After my husband and I spontaneously sold our house and moved a few states away during the pandemic, I was embracing change. Despite enjoying the work, I felt unfulfilled because I couldn’t connect with others as I had as a journalist, and I didn’t feel like I was making any tangible difference.

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, my sister had recommended I start my own business, and I initially brushed it off. But then I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So that’s when DigiBridge Media was born.

Now, along with a team of talented content creators, I help passionate entrepreneurs all over the country bring their visions to life through branded content that authentically tells their story and resonates with a loyal community.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been several challenges as I started DigiBridge Media. I had to learn how to run a business on my own, which is not easy. I also had to learn how to network and build a community of like-minded, genuine, and motivating entrepreneurs. It’s been a tough journey, but well worth it. I have completely transformed my life and mindset through all of the lessons I’ve had to learn.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
DigiBridge Media helps entrepreneurs unconditionally love their business! They’ll regain confidence in their brand with newfound clarity on their messaging, story, and mission.

Visionary entrepreneurs who can’t stop talking about their work often want to serve their community and do something bigger than themselves. They begin and end each day thinking about their next move. To create that ripple effect, they may need someone to walk with them, listen, offer guidance, and push them to turn their ideas into reality so they can do what they love while leaving their mark on the world.

We start with a conversation: What’s working? Where do you need support? What’s your vision? Then, we come together on a step-by-step plan to hone in on their brand’s story and tell it in a way that resonates with their ideal audience, building a loyal community.

No two plans are the same, and they meet each entrepreneur where they are at. Some need to dive deep into the look and story behind the brand, while others require a helping hand spreading the message via video, social media, photography, web design, and beyond.

Either way, we’re the marketing team they can rely on to be there for them every step of the way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve been very “lucky” to find the right people (collaborators, creatives, partners, etc.) when the time was right to support and elevate DigiBridge’s mission. But, it really hasn’t been luck at all.

I continue to put myself out there through networking and marketing to create opportunities. These opportunities exhibit red or green flags, and you have to have a strong commitment to and understanding of your values and mission to discern the difference. Listen to your gut, look out for the signs, and when you miss them, treat them as learning opportunities so you won’t continue to create the same “bad luck.”
